What did you do to your Z this week?

Finally, this pair are ready to go back in the car ...

It’s been a long road, this interior. But nearing the end now ...

This week, I got a fuel line tap (90 degree ball valve) to put between fuel tank and first filter to make on the road swaps easier if it has to be done.

Also, got a second set of keys cut. Timpsons charge £22 for a pair of keys, they may have to order in blanks but work fine.

I changed the routing of my fuel lines and put the regulator and return after the fuel rail to sort out some heat soak problems.

And then upgraded the ECU firmware to improve startup. And then I drove around a lot. These S30s are common, I saw two on my travels yesterday.

Jon came to see me this weekend and his car is FULL of character. It looks and sounds 'mean' and there is enough 'stuff' under the bonnet to keep conversations going for weeks!

Thats one of the S30s I saw accounted for

Went down to the rented garage and opened the door for the first time since October 2019, which was when i last drove the car.

Removed the battery, got it home and checked the voltage with a multimeter, i was expecting around 10 - 11 volts, but to my complete surprise, it read 12.5!
I have an isolator so that makes a big difference during storage, but even so, I'm impressed :D

Hooked it up to my intelligent charger and within a few hours it was happily warming to the tune of 14.5V
