What did you do to your Z this week?

I've started to strip my second seat to refit the recoloured original cover Sean sent me a few years ago. Seat is having new foam as well. I've already done one of them.

Went to start the Zed yesterday and the battery has had it. :EXTRAeek: It doesn't seem that long ago since I got a new one, so checked my receipts for the car and it was actually 9 years ago! I think that's pretty good going considering it is garaged 99% of the time and on a battery maintainer. So have ordered up the exact same one again (Varta BLUE Dynamic 570 413 063 3132 E24 12V 70Ah 630A/EN). It was only £70 inc delivery which is a fiver cheaper than last time! EXTRA:D

Good battery that and now that’s got me thinking. I bought mine about 9 years ago for roughly for the same price. Maybe worth looking at a replacement as well! :) Where did you source yours from?

Got it from the Battery Group, have not used them before, but got a tracking message saying it has been dispatched, so should get it tomorrow.

My fuel gauge is reading low, I pulled all the fuel out of the tank today, using the facet electric pump. On "empty" but not below, it still had 15 litres of fuel in it. Put a gallon back with some tetra e lead replacement, enough to get to the garage to fill up with Shell ultimate. The 99 octane fuel has no ethanol, despite being labeled as "up to 5%",(see their website) so could suit anyone planning to lay up the car for a while. With tetra e added, it's 101 octane 5 star fuel!

Other than that, changed gearbox oil on my vw t5 van, glad I did as it was pretty rough!

My mistake, talking about Esso fuel not Shell.

Should have repaired this stitching before I coloured it and well before reassembly of course but I either didn’t notice it was missing or had noticed and forgotten about it (this interior work was started four years ago, remember). So had to get the needle and thread out. I had the right colour because I had done some repairs on the already-finished one. It all gets recoloured anyway.

Hi, well, following draining the tank down to last gallon, I then filled up with Esso 99+ and popped in some Tetra E lead additive as well. I'm not sure if the crud is being dissolved by aggressive additives or I agitated sediment in the tank but I had my fuel stutter issue again.

Took a few taps with a spanner on float chambers and shaking the fuel filters to get home. Replaced filter when home and there was crud in the engine bay filter.

Its replaced now but I really should replace the rear filter just post tank as this could have degraded (can't see in this one).

Longer term, I'm considering replacing the fuel line from the tank and wondered if anyone has internally plastic coated the fuel tank to prevent this issue?
