Nice work! I wish I paid this much attention to detail. My project could take inspiration from yours! Looking forward to more updates.

Thanks Rob, I didnt intend to go this far but once you start it kinda of takes over and you cant seem to stop.

Morbias, I used 16mm ID hose. I got mine from SFS Performance. There are plenty of other suppliers, but I've had good service from them.

Now thats a clean motor!!
Lovely work, although you had loads of pain with the valves etc once its in the car you'll forget about all that.
Great pics as well, why can't Haynes manage that??
Top job!!

Another 280zx brethren back on the road, these cars are getting rarer than hens teeth. I've not done anything near what you have but so impressed keen to see you at a meet to get inspiration!!

Thanks Derrick, long ways to go yet. I fitted the tank today. Tried out the tank sealing kit from Frosts, it makes a nice job of the insides, mine was rusted to hell. It takes a while and is quite messy but the insides is now rust free and hopefully will now stay that way.

Hi.
I got the panel from Mr F. Best of luck with your rebuild. If you need any help just give me a shout.

Got my wheels back today, I know they are the standard iron cross but they look absolutely awesome in my opinion. Griffs, the custom shop I've been using, has done a beautiful job in restoring them. They have powder coated the cast surfaces of the wheel silver and then lacquered them but have left the rims and the outline of the crosses polished aluminium un-lacquered.

The wheel nuts will be coming back next week from the chrome platers, so I can get some rubber on the wheels and fit them. It seems 205/70/14 profile tyres are impossible to get hold of so will have to settle for 195's instead.

I'm absolutely loving the fact that so many 280s are coming back from the dead again now, hopefully we will see more of them out to play next year at ZFest, LakeZ and maybe some of the Japanese shows? We've been lucky enough to see Candy Red a couple of times this year and would be AWESOME to see some more coming out to play too.

Hi Guys, my 2 seater 280ZX is almost finished after 3+ years in France! It has been restored to the original specification with no modifications.
