280Z prices on the up !

That interior on the French 280 is pretty impressive. The rear side side panels look to be covered in the same vinyl as the rear turrets.

That 280Z looks very nice
What changes from original spec. has Marc done ?
Chrome bumpers sourced from ?

I have a couple of 280Z arriving very soon and debating whether to go chrome or FRP.
One is silver so black FRP from Craig will look OK but other is wine red metallic.
May look better in chrome on that car.
Have used Futofab in States for chrome bumpers previously but expensive landed especially now with exchange rate at $1.30.

Harringtons.

280Z-spec Front spoiler from Jakub

Lowered springs I think

Carpets from Romas

Local interior

For the wine Z, I'd go stainless/chrome.....but in fact with any colour I'd go for the chrome look - adds a touch of class to a Z !

Like Mike McShane mentioned earlier in thread, better off restoring a 240Z or 260Z when they are in that condition as the restoration costs are same yet end value 35% less on 280Z.
Best value 280Z are excellent/mint cars £12/15k max.

Looks like a really tidy car (from what I can tell from pics). I don't see why it shouldn't make that money? Quite like the yellow too, just not keen on the bumpers...

Agreed. Must be hard tos ell 280ZXs at that price then.....;)

As Chris says in the post above yours, 280Zs simply do not command values anywhere near 240Zs, no matter how good the resto. Plus, 240s are not selling for anywhere near 40k, even fully restored RHD ones (apart from Samuris sold to those with maybe more money than sense), so there's no way a 280z will.

If that sale actually completes at that price, that's been a pretty good deal and quite a haircut over a couple of months of ownership...

Agree...a very nice car by the looks of it. I hope whoever buys it leaves as is and does not convert it to RHD. Each to their own though and enjoy...

Knowing that car as well as I do can say that is an absolute bargain buy for lucky winning bidder.

Wow...am I missing something on that UK red Zed. I mean it sold for $17,000 and it is a left hooker. The hatch slam panel?

Guess I am not seeing what you chaps are seeing.

Am I wrong?????Why????

I'm having a sniff around the left hookers to convert to RHD,but it has to be mint and I have a limit to wot I would pay,I'm even considering flying to the states if I see something I fancy

Thats right, you're not seeing it as you havent seen the car.

Bondo ? Bullshit.

Mike, you are 'jumping in' based on poor pictures.

Chris, I think you are a bit defensive about this car. We know you deal in decent cars.

I've seen this car and I did bid on it. Is the winning bidder on here?

Chris did himself note in a previous discussion/thread that the slam panel was something that could benefit from attention. The rest of the car doesn't reflect that particular area though. It's mainly just detail improvements to be made elsewhere (sorting a few bits of over sprayed hardware, etc).

I have always tried to be constructive and light hearted when posting on this forum but sorry that ill-informed post just pushed the limit of my patience first thing in the morning ! Have edited my post deleting the more inflammatory comments. It is not my car so neither here not there on that score Rob. Just want balance and cannot let negative opinions pass by when they are not correct.

That slam-panel design has caused a lot of cars to corrode there. If only Datsun had put a slope on it and altered the panel join/overlap. I just liberally spray WD40 on mine and let it 'pool'.
