You've got your bonnet roundel where I'm planning to have one on Dixie. Great minds think alike obviously!!
Interested to see how you operate the cable linkage quadrant, I’m on the same set-up and had to reverse the direction the actuator arms pull. Also quite difficult to ensure you don’t have a short travel throttle pedal. And on the Dixie front, thread update coming at the weekend, but a few spoiler pics...
its on the windscreen behind the mirror - quite discrete. Can’t wait to get out for a drive again.....is that mounted on you mirror Jon?
Got any pictures, Tim?Aaand I tested another new exciting part (which I am a bit proud of tbh): Plug&Play SU throttle cable conversion kit. Doesn't require any modification to the car at all (ball type connector to throttle pedal, custom made clamp lever attaches to throttle shaft, bowden tube holder plate attaches to balance bar). It also maintains the original fast throttle adjustment screw for setting up the carbs (replaces the original plate).
I used Teflon lined bowden tube and high end cables for minimal friction. I had all parts laser cut, machined them afterwards and had everything yellow zinc coated to match the rest of the car. I'd say it looks pretty OE.
Even though my throttle linkage was in perfectly fine condition before, the difference is unbelievable (to me at least). Drivability has improved incredibly. Heel&Toeing is so much more rewarding now and there's no more jerky stop and go traffic pedal control.
Good move, I’ve done it on my 260z, all works fine, intermittent park etc. Took me an age to get sorted with the wiring connections as all the looms are different colours on later ZsI did the Honda wiper motor upgrade, have to install it in the car still but looks promising.
Looks really neat that. Different to 260/280 where there is a bulkhead fitting with separate houses on each side. Less leaks points on the 240 plumbing.Pipes all back on and tightened down ...
Bizarrely the only water leak I’ve had so far, the in-car side of this bulkhead fitting sprayed water and antifreeze all over the carpets. I’d even remade it in stainless cos the original had dissolved, should have replaced the hoses too!I don’t know why they would add to the potential leakage points as the model evolved!
