yes, thanks Peter, only the cam has real damage. I thought I'd have it running again today, but my guess at lash pad size for my spare cam was well off, so I'll be waiting another week now.Oh damn.
Sad to see that I hope the pistons are ok
Glad to hear, or rather glad considering alternative outcomes...yes, thanks Peter, only the cam has real damage. I thought I'd have it running again today, but my guess at lash pad size for my spare cam was well off, so I'll be waiting another week now.

And was turned out with one of these, oh and few swift blows with the club hammer to get it going. The picture above and below are of the second strut that came apart a lot easier. In fact it looks to have been replace at some point but they probably gave up on the drivers side and didn't bother.

So anyway that's how he got the insert moving and the ferrule out on the drivers side. As I say the passenger side was so much easier.
I've just been speaking to Kent Cams, and the old cam is dead. luckily I have a spare they ground for me a year ago.Glad to hear, or rather glad considering alternative outcomes...
So what do you do, will you need to change the cam? Can it be saved?
I've been plodding on with my "to sell" engine.
Just core plugs, oil pump and cam cover to go.
