Nice. Perhaps the speedo is just the cable.
Yeah I remember seeing that now,wot bhp is the filter able to take ?I followed Richie’s guide on using a specific Honda intake kit and got lucky when I spotted a second hand one on eBay, chopped it down and bought a 90deg for the front.
This was sold as for a Prelude so that as well as a Civic/CRX.
Is that a thing? No clue. As it’s a kit I’m sure there are better filters to put on instead though.Yeah I remember seeing that now,wot bhp is the filter able to take ?

There's a lot less induction noise with the airbox (compared to just open trumpets)Do you still get the nice carb intake noise with this box and that cone filter attached?

I think no one does enough miles for it to matter. At 1000 miles per year, it'll be a lifetime before the engine fails.Thought so. But guessing still more than with the standard airbox? Especially on a 280z with FI still installed!
How on earth do people with open trumpets keep dirt from entering the engine? Or do they just take off the filters for photos/shows?!
I honestly didn’t pay attention to the before and after difference (from the original box and filter), but there’s certainly no loss of awesomeness!Do you still get the nice carb intake noise with this box and that cone filter attached?
I'm not running an airbox, and that's my sentiment for not. It would be different if loads of miles, in a dusty environment, but its not runnng in that. Nobody is cleaning their cone filter every year.... (or every 2 or 3 years come to that).I think no one does enough miles for it to matter. You should hear my car, sounds the nuts when it’s opened up,plenty of growlThere's a lot less induction noise with the airbox (compared to just open trumpets)
I got trumpet covers for mine. They filter the big stuff but not so sure about smaller dust particles. Don't really do enough mileage to worry about it though. Can't remember where I got them but I was from the US.Thought so. But guessing still more than with the standard airbox? Especially on a 280z with FI still installed!

You can get something similar to Farmer42's set-up for DCOE/PHH/DHLA carbs to stop pets and small children being sucked in, but bolt between the carb body and trumpet.

Farmer42, thinking about it, your mesh over your trumpets is doing more harm than good. As it clips on the outside, it totally blocks the function air trumpets were are designed for, for pulling air from around the edge/behind the bell shape. All yours is doing is pulling straight. I would try ones that sandwich between the carb body and trumpet.
