Simply Japanese August 2nd

See you guys at the event directly. I'll come past the Tesco but will be late. Will drive on to the venue if I don't see anyone.

Great day in the sun. It was good to meet so many people from the clubs. It always amazes me how much interest there is in the car and today was no exception. There were some stunning cars on display which put the old race car to shame.
Candy red is even better looking in reality and basking in the sunshine the colour was intense :bow:
No boom boxes playing music
NIce chilled relaxed atmosphere
Recommend going if you have not been before.
Thanks for organising it .

It was a really great event and as Ben has said, it was sooo nice to not be forced to listen to someone elses choice of music, played at stupidly loud levels. Very relaxed and great to just talk to people about zeds.

I echo Ben and John.

Really good event & completely different atmosphere to JapFest at Castle Combe. It was great not having loud music blaring out and people revving the nuts off their cars without actually moving them.

Good to see more of the older Zs as well as the more modern stuff and there were some really nice examples. For me it was good to be able to talk to people about Zs without someone being picky or having a pop which some on this website seem to do for a pasttime. Also good to see another S30 2+2 in RHD.

Candy Red is stunning in the flesh:bow: & had my vote for car of the event

Also some lovely examples of other older models of Datsuns (Cedric, Bluebird & Laurel) & a couple of nice looking 70's Toyota Celica GTs.

Thanks to Z32Bolt for organising.

Really nice day out at Simply Japanese on Sunday. That's the longest run I've done in a while (120 mile round trip), was a bit nervous, but it behaved fine.

Really good to see 5 x 280zx's out in the sun. Candy red is stunning, really nice paint job and interior, so well done Derek!

Thanks again to Huw for the switches, have tested them and they work fine! Nice one.

It really is a great meet that's gone from strength to strength. Believe it or not we had around and I'd bet over 50 zed cars. I counted up to 48 then another hand full rolled in! I think it would be fair to say we were the largest club there.
I tried to speak to everyone and those I did were friendly and chatty. All in all a lovely day in the sun all about the cars.
Roll on next year....

A great day out, thanks Steve for organising the day for us. It was good to put some faces to website names and to meet up with some of you again. Paul didn't get chance to chat more by the time we had done a tour of the place you had gone, next time! It was also nice to see so many 280ZX in one place for a change. Here are a few pics of the day.

My missus was very taken by this lovely machine.

Ben your car looked awsome

Your cars even better in the flesh Derrick, nice to meet you at last.

Car performed brilliantly for its first long trip since coming back on the road. Only a couple of things spoilt my day however, one was my bloody gearbox whining like hell. The other was a little more serious, avoided a very nasty accident leaving Sailisbury when a motorcyclist pulled out in front of me on a roundabout. Having spotted me at the last minute she (very young lady) braked so hard she dropped her bike and fell in front of the car. Thank god the 280 has damn good brakes.

All in all tho a great day out, looking forward to next year.

Sorry Rob.

One of those (white one) was mine but its a bit too far away for me. The other chap lives in the Bournemouth area so may be within his travelling distance. I don't think he looks at this website very frequently though (or so I remember him telling me).

Toopy has a 2+2 & might be worth sending a PM.

Just waiting for the deluge of comments about charlatan magazine journalists that get all the facts wrong about Zs!!;)

Cheers

Paul

Thanks to all involved in putting this on, really great turnout and sooooo nice to park up next to other 280zx's especially the targa that travelled the longest distance - New Zealand I think the owner said......impressive.

Yes he did come from New Zealand originally:lol: but now lives in the Uk and had his gold 280zx shipped here really nice guy

Derrick ;)
