Sean's last point is a bit of a minefield as to how to provide a definitive Register of Samuri's?
However, what I can say categorically is that we cannot change the past and moving forwards any work that we do will be carefully documented and all cars we work on will be name plated and cross referenced to a data base.
Kevin and I will define what level of modifications are carried out on future cars so that it will be easy to differentiate from simple go faster mods to full blown Samuri conversions.
The easy way to do this is to start with the 350/370Z offerings and then work backwards with the 240/260/280Z offerings, where we hope to emulate what Singer has done for the 911 with 240/260/280Z Resto-Mods, but more on this at a later date.
I and I think others would very much like to see a definitive and up to date register of previous complete Samuri cars and considering the interest and values we have seen recently, this would be a responsable action from the company and those in the know - ie, who were there at the time !
Call it an information legacy. Please, something to seriously consider and a worthy heritage to quote from time to time !
Your 'emulating Singer' comment confuses me further as Singer themselves state this : "Our customers supply a fully road legal 1989-1994 Porsche 911 Coupe or Targa for the basis of restoration and varying degrees of modification."
They undertake what is now termed 'back-dating' which is the opposite to that which we've seen in the cars offered from MZR Roadsports which are older cars upgraded to a modern state.
I'm very curious and genuinely interested to know more of this at a later date but please....don't leave it too long - this is major Z news in the Zs 50th anniversary year so spill the beans !
Have you plans to attend any birthday Z events this year with a or more Zs ?
Cheers.
