Samuri for sale at NEC

That's all a bit loose and vague to me, with errors too.

I was keeping out of it this time, but as it sounds loose to you Rob ;) thought it time to chime in :D

This Samuri b*****ks is just going too far. IT IS ALL A MYTH !!! HONEST

It appears that now Spike has the memory of an elephant, but I know for a fact back in the day he did not !!

That Cert looks very fresh ! is it genuine ? you could probably get one for a car built yesterday !

And as for that joker trying to jump on the band wagon by asking 50k for that 260 that is so wrong in so many ways is beyond belief to me

This is why a properly kept register is necessary.

How could that possibly happen ? Who actually knows what a GENUINE Samuri is ?

I would personally say there are only 2 Samuri's obviously they are FFA & Big Sam, but even that pair are nowhere near the same cars that Spike put together.

So, does that mean in your opinion, nothing is worth looking into in an attempt to get the records straight ?

Normally when you attempt to put the record straight, you would benchmark against a fixed factual point.

From what I have read and understood from other members, there isn't such a "benchmark". No period correct vouchable and supportive records have been maintained.

Happy to be educated otherwise.

One can only begin with the existing register, consult with Spike/Mike and the current owners of each car on that register and those authenicated by Spike and not yet updated on the current register.

Thank you datsfun I rest my case it is all total b******t & the only nostalgia to be had as far as Samuri is concerned is memories.

Or
A: just believe you have something that is, that is'nt :D
B: Have more money than sense to get something that is'nt :D or
C: the best option get yourself a good solid Z paint it 2 tone & get a cert off Spike

So what would an original Samuri need to retain to still be a Samuri? Would the shell be more important than the engine or vice versa or would it need both?

I ask as this car (well, VIN number with HS30 prefix) was mentioned on here about three years ago but it had a different engine number

This topic is all pretty confusing... The more we talk about the subject the less I seem to care. Looking forward to seeing the results of the auction this weekend all the same

Personally think it is a bit of a futile exercise as the only alleged person who might know never kept any records and on his own admission was so lax with paper work

IMHO you can not rely on just vague memories as it all seems so ad hock and you just have to read Spike's Biography to realize that

Again are we talking about a car that had the full Samuri Conversion as described by Spike or are we talking about cars that had various bits of work done them that Spike remembers doing

Lets be totally honest it was all so long ago how can anyone be expected to remember and to be honest if you asked me what sites did I work on back then then I could not remember correctly

And what about the cars that Samuri Conversions Ltd worked on after Spike left and moved to Spain

I remember when Nico owned Samuri DDP that he was having a huge problem with another person who had a Samuri with the same reg number.

Well if ever I was in the market for a Samuri, the first thing I'd want to see would be the original receipt showing the registration and all the work done. Without that, it's all just he said, she said I'm afraid.

Not according to Spike you don't.....allegedly.

So how do you resolve the above discrepancy ? You suggested consultations with owner as part of the checking process:confused:

One can only begin with the existing register, consult with Spike/Mike and the current owners of each car on that register and those authenicated by Spike and not yet updated on the current register.

Or does the ECJ make a ruling:rolleyes::driving:

I know that car, saw it in Coventry when Nico had finished it, then when Paul Samson used it for trackdays and now Stewart Middleton has it.
