Proper car for sale at last

If my maths is any good, that's £56,350 the new owner will have to pay for it, just slightly more than double your estimate Seany ;);)

Better get my insurance value updated

The VAT is only paid on the 12.5% fee, not the car, so JK's figure is correct.

It's a lot!

Yours going up for auction soon then Jonathan? :p

My only defence is that I was the only one of the armchair experts here to have boldy stated a figure.:p

Good news though.

Perhaps people are realising that these are cars of a finite quantity finally !

To Slow with my typing well I have done it so I might as well post it

So the initial £49000 does not have vat on it so you only have to add buyers premium £6125 then vat on this £1225 making total of £56350 not £70000
So I would have a spare £13650 in my grubby mits I wonder what I could buy with that

Well that went well....

£49,000 plus auction fees

So a paint job and some vinyl stripes and sign writing bumped up the price by nearly £15 k...wasn't the same car up on eBay in plain paint and it hit mid 20k.

Congrats to the new owner

I don't think it's the paint or the stripes, I think it's selling it through the right format. eBay isn't the right place for this sort of car now.

I don't think it's the paint or the stripes...

I'd absolutely beg to differ on that particular point.

Unless you think a car with a similar spec but no 'Samuri' look could achieve a similar figure in the same (auction) environment?

I totally agree and have said so previously. People get carried away at auctions when they can see the car and 'in the zone'.

I was told that about my blue car - it was too cheap on ebay. I consider it to be a better car (spec-wise) than that sold today, of course it's rust-free too.

Although it's great for us who own Zs it's getting ridiculous for 'would-be' owners - like houses!

Totally agree Alan, that car has sold for a ridiculous amount of money probably because its painted in Samuri colours. Many people think there is something very special about a Samuri & would pay a very high premium to own one  The car I have now is far superior to CHL the Samuri I used to own. Its one of them mysteries in life to me, how many of these Samuri's are the real deal ? also I see some more have been produced in recent times :confused: Its all b******t is'nt it.
All I can say good luck to them fools with more money than sense.

I agree with you Alan - the Samuri effect brings the dosh. I'm not knocking it, it's just the way the world works - image is everything.

And the car was 'bull'd-up' in the press beforehand. It brings in thousands!

OK for those of us not totally tuned in

Was this car an accredited Sam or was it a normal 260 painted up to resemble same?
