Old Pictures of '78 Meet

I never remember seeing FFA fitted with rear marker lights, what's that all about ?

Ah Gwyn - you're sharp - I reckon we both saw that very quickly.......but you beat me to it !

The Zs look a bit worse for wear too - damp, dirty and rusty....

I remember Nico saying he would know FFA when he went to view it as the trans tunnel had been chopped about at one time, but neither of us ever knew it was reshelled, obviously the pic is when FFA was a few years old by the 78 260 in the back ground, don't know which year Spike fitted the flared arches either but it was much later on.

The best ones do, I love cars that earn their keep and don't get 'fussed' over.

Went to the Autosport Show last Friday (saw quite a few of our members there too), drove back across country in the dark and got the 370 'shit up'. When I look out of the window now it reminds me of the great drive .

Gwyn,

Looking in the book, the only picture of FFA in this exact livery has the lines next to it saying "Spike with FFA upon its return. Croughton 1978" so I guess he was still the owner at the time of these photo's. Most of the other pictures in the book all show the car with very different sign-writing, etc.

Is any next of kin of Eddie Miller involved with the club?
When you see this it becomes less surprising that there are no 280ZXs left...another view below:

What's going on here ?-they look newish:confused:

The photo is the yard of a major ZX specialist breaker ZXtra (and later ZXS) - the cars might look good on top, but all were suffering from excessive rust and a lack of clientele ready to pay for extensive restoration. The 280ZX and 300ZX are expensive restoration prospects...

Another of FFA 196L and then the white car was that owned by the person who sent me the pictures Jim Brookman. He says that the boy on the bonnet is now 21!

And the final 4 photos. Note the colour combination of the car behind the girl (Jim's daughter I think). Was this 'meet' sponsored by a body-shop I wonder?
