Brit govt threat to tweaked classics

that’s the way.

same as they charge you £8 to dispose of a plasterboard sheet, it costs £5 to buy.

What ?

That's all accepted freely here, one merely has to put in it a seperate, covered skip....it gets recycled hence the cover to keep the rain of !

Turn up a council tip with anything more than a carrier bag of Plasterboard or a bucket of rubble, and you'll be on the weighbridge before you can say 'what trade waste'!

It's the same for ceramic tiles and car tyres. It cost me a fortune when I cleared out the old house before we moved!

ok as a builder you haven’t a clue what I have to pay and unfortunately pass on to customer,if I it half a sheet plasterboard into a skip i will be charged £100 per ton of the skip waste ,also if I want to dispose of flat roofing felt I’m looking at £185 +vat for skip +£480 for them to to deal with it ,REALLY :cuss:

That really annoys me, it's not like there was much of an alternative when it was installed god knows how many years ago, I can understand going forward it's not a very environmentally friendly product and we should use far less, but why penalise people for getting rid when they had no control over it's installation years ago!!

As a gardener i have to use the weighbridge for waste, mostly it's all green waste so it all gets composted and recycled, they charge me to get rid of it and then they produce compost with it and then sell it! double bubble profit, no wonder there's so much fly tipping

I collect up any scrap metal and take it to a place 2 mins from the council recycling centre that actually pays me for it!

On the subject of being charged twice for things - decaffeinated coffee is more expensive that regular and then Red Bull charge you for a can of the waste product!

Thanks

I see three glaring phrases :

a) "It (Federation) doesn't believe that exemptions will be needed"

b) "The proposals should be reviewed in the context of future developments"

c) "assuming that there are no subsequent U-turns"

------------------------

a) so, nothing clear-cut and merely an interpretation

b) and anything can happen in the future - it needs to br written in B and W now !

c) Not set in stone then (see b) above !

There's going to be legislation next year to prohibit european aftermarket parts for classic cars.
I heard it from a friend who heard it from a friend who read it on faecebook.

Yes apparently if manufactured in EU we will let them in. If manufactured in Far East but sold via EU traders, these goods will be blocked. - also from a Facebook friend :p:D
