Sadly a V765 has no relation to my application, and the DVLA will only now apparantly accept manufacturer proof on an official headed note paper, not email.
Apologies to all affected, but the DVLA have been accepting our information for at least ten years now, so it comes as a considerable surprise to me that we are no longer acceptable!

was the return email from the same person?Ha ha, I thought the same Dale, but no our incredible and efficient (sarcasm intended) DVLA have emailed me about a couple of hours ago
Having liaised with my caswork team, I can now confirm that the letter you have emailed today, can be accepted as evidence for your vehicle’s manufacturer date.
They have even said they will refund the tax I paid in full remarkably!!
Result, eventually.
Just make sure your exchanges with them are politeJust had my application rejected as we'll not impressed. I did email Nissan a week ago and did get a response which clearly states my car was made in 1973! I will be sending the whole lot back to the in the morning stating that the average delivery time on Nissan / datsun from the japan to the uk was approx 3 months from order! Thus making it impossible that many cars were made in 1974. Unless they had a very fast ship or a transporter from Star Trek... Stupid silly jobs worthy without one ounce of logic between them...
Really? I'm sorry Mike, but my success has nothing whatsoever to do with your speaking to the DVLA! It is purely and simply because I have a letter from Nissan confirming date of manufacture.Your success may result from our own conversations with DVLA pointing out the same points made above. I feel the need to reiterate what Steve is saying - the situation needs careful handling and for individual members not to vent their spleens too readily!
We are working to get it sorted and the fact that you have had a reversal is an indication that someone is listening...

That and that alone is the reason I have achieved a taxation class change. However for the benefit of other members going forward I would suggest that the club is recognised by the FHBVC as soon as possible.
