I think I know the owner of this car and he is a member.

Upholstery is his 'forte' .

Looks good but they all do.

I recognise those buildings I am sure from the background behind other cars ...

Considering there is a basketcase total rebuild 260z on ebay currently for just about £14,000, this is a bargain ... !

Presume the colour is NOT an original one though ... ?

Slightly off topic, but related to 901 Silver ;)
I am doing a nut and bolt restoration at the moment on a 1971 HS30 ex-South Africa, nothing too wild but with subtle improvements over stock.
Original colour was 901 Grand Prix Silver.

My old school classic head says you should always retain at least an original period factory colour, if not the actual one it left the factory wearing.
However, slowly S30Z's are changing my opinion. No two cars are the same (which makes them all the more interesting) and I think the Z is one of those rare cars that can cross the barrier between old school classic and custom car without losing anything in the interpretation.

Dilemma, go back to the factory 901 Silver (I think the overwhelming popularity of 'modern/new' Silver cars a few years ago is clouding my judgement as we all eventually became fed up with the colour) or another factory colour or (tut tut) a non-original colour.

I know colour is subjective, everyone will have a different idea but generally is Silver a decent option for a blank canvas Z ?

If I don't go Silver, I am considering going against my old school ideas and maybe off piste with a non-original colour somewhere between Safari Gold and 918 Orange. 918 is too terracottery and not bright enough as an orange for me (sorry Franky and all ye disciples ;)).

I still like this version of orange but absolutely love my red car. I don't think I'd like the red one anywhere near as much if it was standard looking though. Some silvers I like whilst others I don't. My favorite silver car is Jon Prynn's.

If you're going yellow and wanted to keep it in the family then there's always Nissan Ultimate Yellow (EAC) as per my sig ;)

I think silver is just a bit boring for s30's, same as blue's etc.

The orange below is what i've got mixed, I can give you the paint codes for it.

Personally. I'd go safari gold. Amazing 70's colour, not common, looks great on the s30 shape.

Ps, thanks for the personal apology, you're forgiven :)

Apart from #903 Blue Metallic in 1971, #113 Green Metallic, #114 Brown Metallic, #115 Grand Prix Blue Metallic and #901 Grand Prix Silver Metallic in 1971, 1972 and 1973.

Oh shyt - caught be the internet police - hands up - I dunnit. But I swear I don't think I've ever seen a Euro 240Z with factory paint other than in flat colours...
