I still watch the show but kinda went off it when they done the DB7. The episode was advertised to death with a James Bond style trailer. Think they only made a couple of hundred in profit from the thing.
Oh, and the constant whooping and hollering from Mr Brewer everytime he accelerates does tend to grate at times.

The rebuilds are pretty **** too!!
The green 911 they did a few years back, ended up in a friends garage here, It had to have loads of work done to bring it up to scratch.

Don't really like the show but I do like Car SOS, anyone watch it? Brings a tear to my eye to see the happy recipient receive their beloved classic back on the road.

For those that haven't seen it - friends and family write in and nominate someone who deserves their assistance in bringing their classic non runner back to life, usually people who are I'll or have hit hard times,. They take the car away in secret and then in about 3 weeks they surprise them with their restored and on ther road.

Yeh, really like this show as well

Although even they must source, or atleast enquire about rare/hard to get parts in advance of the
3 week constraint for each vehicle

I don't mind Wheeled Dealers, if just use it a entertainment, which occasionally throws out the occasional nugget of info on a car I might be interested in buying one day.

The 911 Targa they did a few years ago was one of the worst models to choose, but back then they were trying to work with a much lower budget, so bought the cheapest one they could find. Despite having a "galvanised" chassis, these 80s Porkers still rust esp round the rear inner guards, so if you bought it a while later, Heaven knows what will have happened since it was on the show. They actually went to look at another 911, belonging to a DDK forum member, and a squad of mechanics turned up and gave it the once over. It wasn't selected for the show as there wasn't enough work required on it.

But whatever WD is still a 100 times better than the Canadian car spiv and the ex Chop Shop geezer working out of the lock-up in London.

I'll look forward to the WD 240z, the more exposure for the marque the better.

As for the above memo, it's just too cartoon-ish, both Mr B and Big Edd know enough about cars, and any 16 year old can Wiki enough info about a 240 to know that's all bull. But Hey if it's good enough for the Count.......

Wait, you mean you suspect it might not actually be real...?

A 240Z being featured on Wheeler Dealers worries me and I'll tell you why. There are vast number of people who are obsessed with under valuing the 240Z and it's later incarnations. OBSESSED. Every car they sell on the show leaves you with that "how can it be that cheap" feeling and left wondering "he's made about £30 profit on that..."

I fear that this 240Z will be no different except that when people in the club under value a car, it's us that know about it, if it's undervalued on a TV show (popular with classic collectors and fans) they are going to have a distorted view of their value.

I certainly didn't buy my 240Z as an investment, I probably won't ever sell it, but it's nice to know you're driving around in something rare and valuable sometimes.

On that note, is yours whole again?

Haha, not yet. I don't really have anywhere for it to go at the moment. I don't want to take it back to my garage in cornwall as it's a long 700+ mile round trip to do jobs on it! I'll be needing someone to put it all back together when the body work is fixed......

Finally saw an advert for this last night, the first one of the new series is on the 23rd of this month. Only half caught it but something about the US so I don't know if it's one of those 'on the road' series again.

The new series started today. They are in the US (buy, fix up and sell). These are extra episodes so the series is longer. Fifteen in the UK and five in the US.

The Zed episode is on the 27th of April at 21:00 on the Discovery channel.

I look forward to the episode. People always have opinions about the show but to be honest it's good entertainment and sometimes Edd does have a few useful tips. The 240 they've done looks good as well. Hasn't been butchered either, love the colour as well.
