Hi, Yes please :)

Here you go mate :)

The rears are the ones to look at:

8J et-11 with 205/60/14 Toyo Proxes CF2 tyres.

For info, the fronts are 7J et+-2 (can't remember) with 195/60/14 Toyo Proxes CF2 tyres

No there doesn't so they're all square, I wonder why the o/s wheels catch then? Maybe Mike can throw some light on the situation

Just measured mine and it's about 7cm for me with 205/50/16's on 7" Rim, same both sides, maybe it's just that the tyres were too big on a 7" rim, 225/50/16 ? Anyhow it's ok now :)

Replaced the nearside steering rack bellows on Wednesday & greased all the ball joints and track rod ends with my new grease gun. Also had to fabricate a bracket to hang the handbrake cable to stop it dropping onto the rear driveshaft. The original rubber/fabric hanger had completely disintegrated.:( Probably why my handbrake hasn't been working very well lately.

Are the original bolt-on hangers still available for handbrake cables?

Took the Z to a track day at Castle Combe today to see how the L26 engine I rebuilt performed. :driving: My first time on a track and the first time I have really opened her up fully. Nervous would be an understatement!!

Glad to say it didn't miss a beat and the sound of it was sweet music especially from about 4500 revs upwards!! Not the quickest on the track by any means but not the slowest - managed a 1:47 lap & top speed of 125mph (not flat out) - and had to avoid a couple of numpties which made me sweat a little but for a 40 year old car on stock suspension and brakes it went quick enough and handled pretty well. Had a couple of hairy moments at Quarry corner on my first session which for those that know Combe will appreciate its a tricky corner. Probably hit the turn too quick as I couldn't slow down fast enough from the straight leading up to it - due to inexperience. At least I got round after a few twitches which is more than could be said for a guy in a GT86 who lost it and hit the barrier side on, totalling one side of his car. :nopity:

I felt the same as you before I did it especially as another member on here had a nasty experience with 'muppets' at Silverstone during JapFest last year. Problem is that I had an expensive voucher bought for me for my birthday and there were no refunds so I had to use it. No-one I knew wanted to buy it off me.

This is why I was nervous initially and didn't really push too hard. I enjoyed the last session though as the numbers on track thinned out and the idiots had gone so I was able to have space to take the right lines on the corners without worrying that I was getting in the way of other faster cars or have people trying to cut up the inside instead of staying behind as they were supposed to do. I was able to achieve what I set out to do and that is to open the car up legally.

I won't be doing another one though.

Not having done much to the Z recently, mainly due to focussing on my 406 coupe and a recent road trip to its 20th anniversary international meeting in Milan, I spent a few hours today stripping reams of heavy speaker cable out of the back. Very satisfying indeed.

Best of all, after battling to free it all from an amp hidden under the passenger seat, my hand came across something trapped under the cable connections. As is to say thank you for relieving it of unwanted modern accoutrements, the car has given me back the original missing early design choke knob still clinging to the tiny bit of choke lever that broke off some time in the distant past. RESULT :))

Been playing with the silver car today as there were a few jobs that needed doing.

Started by fitting a rear antirollbar. Then replaced the snapped speedo cable. Got the blower motor working (dodgy fuse - blower worked when you pushed the fuse) by replacing the fuse. Fitted a new passenger door seal. Took the centre consul out and repaired the crakes. Then finished off the day by cleaning the wheels, the rest of the car looks good as is :)

Today I have mainly been trying to isolate the effect of the main jets from the pump jets. The car goes rich in the midrange at full throttle, so I was trying to block off the pump jets to see if the pump jets are to blame. I tried to block the jet hole with a bit of rubber bung, but it doesn't seem to work, so back to the drawing board.

Got a few things done yesterday, fitted green LED's in all the gauges and refitted them, wired up the autometer rev counter and fitted in place of original and mounted the shift light tucked away be the column, finished fitting the exhaust from Sean and after getting the oil pressure up with rotor arm removed from the dizzy ,then put some fuel in the tank and started it up for the first time , was a bit nervous after all the work but sounds pretty nice , will post the video up later

****** all. Like last week. Have done some work on the 944 to get it through the MoT so not all tools have been wasted. I did move the steering rack, which has been on the bench since October, to the other end of the bench though just to keep this Z related.
