What did you do to your Z this week?

Fitted an oil cooler. On a spirited drive the oil temperature was getting very high, so have been trialling out a new Setrab 13 row cooler with a thermostat controlled sandwich plate on the filter. Had a good thrash around the Mendips and the car is running a lot cooler.

Very nice, is there a drain on the cooler for oil changes or do you have to crack the pipes open?

No drain plug unfortunately. I have a little hand operated oil pump for removing the oil in my lawnmower engine. I was going to try that to the remove the oil through the filter plate come oil change time.

might be easier to turn the car upside down?

As a side note, did you prime the cooler and lines?

Cheers,
My radiator has an oil cooler built-in which is currently unused. So, if I decide to go ahead I should just need the plate and pipes.

A proper oil cooler, or a auto box transmission oil cooler? I’ve seen a lot of aftermarket rads have the auto box transmission oil cooler connection at the bottom.

Planning on starting the engine Monday evening so got a bit of time to finish plumbing it all in. A mate of mine is coming over to do the mapping.
