Assuming Christian has a ticket then there's you solution Mike, you may need Christian to contact Japfest and tell them he's 'had mechanical issues' and needs to come in another suitable car and change the reg number to yours. Everyone should win from that, particularly if you want to slide him some cash

'LUNCHTIME PARADES
If you have booked a place on one of the lunchtime parades, please follow the instructions given on your parade ticket with regard to walking to the parade sign-on tent in the infield (see site plan) once you have parked your car on your stand, and then collecting your parade wristbands etc. Please note, if you are parked on the GP/Melbourne Loop and are booked into a parade you still need to check in at the parade registration tent in the infield (once your car is parked in the Loop) but your car will join the parade from the Loop. All parade participants who are parked in the infield will join from the infield assembly area.'
