NEC Classic Car Show

Fantastic show, some gorgeous cars on display, was blown away by the Muira, a special bodied Fiat (strange & very cute) & the absolutely stunning metallic BRG Mini pickup.

I must admit that I was surprised at how busy and big it was ,we should have got there sooner as we was whizzing past everything trying to fit it all in

A few more....

Can I ask some questions about this car please?

It's an LHD car that's been converted to RHD, yes?
What has been done regarding the chassis number(s)?
Does it use the chassis number of the original LHD car, or the chassis number of the RHD car that ( presumably ) donated the RHD conversion components into the mix? What has been done regarding the ( North American market ) door-jamb tag that stated the chassis number and date of manufacture?
Does it use the engine of the LHD car, or the engine of the RHD component donor car?
What other parts on the car - apart from the obvious - are from the RHD car?

Hopefully, as the car was displayed on The Z Club's stand at the NEC show, somebody will know.

Thanks.

Alan, I'm can answer most of these questions but I've given the owner the chance first - I've sent him an email. FYI I have known this car for a couple of years, it was imported in lovely condition and is an 'honest' conversion.

Thanks Rob. I'm interested to hear from the owner / seller, as I've already had a couple of people e-mail me asking about the car ( I don't know anything about it.... ).

But I'm also interested to hear what ( if any ) policy the Z Club of GB has regarding such cars, and also how they figure in official club insurance valuations. Any thoughts?

With so many ( ex USA ) LHD cars coming into the country now, I think this is something that the 'community' might need to talk about a bit more...

Thanks.

Finally we couldn't afford a topless model to promote our stand so good old Steve Burns 'stood in'.

Arh yes the Bikini would have made all the difference!
What time did they let you out of the cell in the end Steve? :D

Actually, I feel Steve modelling is perfect! The 70's man for a 70's car- an era where men were men and the term Metrosexual didn't exist.

In the picture here we see the natural 70's male in his natural habitat. The only thing that would enhance it more would have been more chest hair, more side burn and a medallion .

Dear Z fellows,

I googled Steve Burns NEC and I found another photo of Steve at the stand!!!

I'd like to point out that Steve was not hurt during the making of this.

I am not sure if Zclub is participating this year - but I do know that the Classic Z Register is......

......along with another club not too far from here.....;)

As soon as I have the details confirmed, and once I have permission from Steve, I will post a link. Watch this space....!

The Z Club aren't participating this year.

There are a few reasons - basically we tried it last year and may do it again but not yet.

Actually if we can retain ticket stubs (from Members buying through our Club 'offer') and present them to the organisers after the show we get £1 donated to the Club. I need to just ensure I understand the process before I communicate this
I think the club is right to be represented at the NEC - we need to showcase our cars and attract interest in Zs. I hope to be there on the Friday - will the discounted tickets apply on the Friday because previously they haven't.

The club has done it before a few times,it cost's a lot of money to put a couple of cars on show,on my understanding the club doesn't get its money back so when people say it is to promote the club then the best way is to carry on doing the classic car shows all over the country like some people do now, also the mag shoots that happen sometimes, the main turnout at some of the zed meets is mainly 300,s and 350,s,where have all the old Zeds gone or dont they bother anymore with the club like myself,no im not having a pop just saying it as it is and also the mouthpeice for a few of us of which some are still in the club and some are not,the register will be there and it was mentioned about me possibly putting my car up there but to be honest it is suppose to be a classic car show and some of the stuff they have in my eyes are not classic cars but that is for another thread if anyone wants to start one,
The thoughts of quite a few Zed owners who wish to remain in the shadows
