MZR does it again ! :-)

No doubting it's a wonderful car in all respects I would think. Thinking about the price again, it's the same as the red '71' LHD one on ebay that has done the rounds 100 times ...

Which shows you how overpriced the red one is (rather than this one - which is a good deal upon reflection)

I do love a clean engine bay look and hid the brake pipe, loom, and washers back in 2006 when I painted my blue car.

Car looks simply stunning, I love those seats in particular. The only thing I'd really change is adding some 15's to fill the arches a bit better. Otherwise perfect.

Price seems more than reasonable considering the level of build and specification for a much better than new S30. If anything I'd say its cheap, could quite easily compare this to other companies resto modding other marques of car for far bigger price tags imo.

Yep - bargain and I've watched it being built.

They produce some fantastic cars.

I would have thought that they would have wanted to be an official 'Trader' on here instead of you Sean acting on their behalf (or that's what it seems like).

A 'Trader' producing that quality of work and hopefully great customer focus should have nothing to fear.

Been answered I believe - no favourtism from me - I simply add my opinion to each car. The wheels question as well has been answered.

I would simply add that perhaps the club should pursue such companies instead of waiting...expecting them to come to the club ?

For the member's discounts I obtained via our club over here, I approached the companies - NOT the other way around.

Who is this? I always thought it was you Sean?

I don't live in Bradford.

Just had another look at the advert.

Lovely car. There are two things that I would change, not criticising just personal views.

I don't like those little breathers that are often fitted on the cam cover. they just look like someone has placed a cup-cake on top of the engine. I know many people have them but they just don't look right to me. I'd rather see a pipe feeding into a catch-tank (and a hidden filter). And before anyone picks me up on it I know my old track car had a rather ugly arrangement with a pipe and water bottle.

Secondly I would fit an airbox and filter. yes open bellmouths look sporty and make a nice noise but you risk fire and engine wear.

Hi all, i'm new to the 240Z but really like this car at MZR, i know absolutely nothing about these cars, its really the petroliscious(you all know the one) short film thats made me pay attention to them, they look great cars but £40k is that reasonable, i know much work has gone into it but its still a 240Z. I do prefer the covered headlamp models and also should this have the rear lip on the boot, i prefer that as well.
dont bite my head off!!
Also what are they like to deal with if there are issues with their cars after purchase.
thanks

Does anyone know this car or own it as its local to me so may take a look, again is it a £30k car
any help appeciated

Hi there. That red car has been discussed a couple of times recently on the forum. Consensus was it was nowhere near a 30k car for a variety of reasons. Even the very best LHD cars (like a couple of very nice resto-mods MZR have sold in recent months) have a seemingly solid ceiling in the mid-20Ks in the UK. And that one doesn't have the detail to command even that level (paint overspray on fittings, matt black engine bay, black painted bumpers, etc.). Better cars have been/can be had for 50-60% of that asking price.

The MZR 40k car is extremely well executed with lots of good upgrades while retaining a tasteful appearance. Whether it can sell at 40k will be interesting as that is right at (beyond?) the upper limit for road-going RHD cars (not including all the recent auction silliness with Samuris). We've been debating it for months, and evidence in the form of unsold cars tends to suggest limited appetite above 30K unless its really special or money is of minimal object to the buyer (some specialist restorations to order from people like Fourways Engineering can run to 50k odd). That MZR car may just be special enough to buck the trend, but I guess we will have to watch and see!

I think the general advice from everyone will be not to rush into anything, see as many cars as you can and read the forum and other internet resources about Zs and learn as much as you can so as to be better able to make an informed decision. And try not to apply the "it's just a 240Z" line of thinking. Apart from the fact it'll wind people up  things have changed a lot in the last few years in terms of the perception of, demand for, and price of the cars.
