This is what I'm hoping to avoid.
I don't can't remember it being a big job.
This is what I'm hoping to avoid.
I've not found a UK equivalent.
Could someone make these "locally"? Group buy perhaps?
£65 delivered!? Bloody hell!
There is. It’s the same plug on the side of the gearbox too. I had to order mine from Japan - £40 - £50 landed in the UK. Let’s see if I can find my old eBay link.
Yep, if it was up on a lift and I had access to the correct tools I'm sure it would be a piece of cake. The last time the car was MOT'd, i got the guy to try both filler plugs, and they came loose with a hefty yank on a large open ended spanner
That was a couple of years ago, they're probably seized solid now knowing my luck!
Yep, a bit cheaper. But I'm not sure about it being a star rather than square socket.
I hope you get the thing undone somehow...
So I have a question - when refitting said plug, other than overtightening it, what else can be done to help remove it later? Would it be a good or bad idea to use a little smear of copper slip on the thread for example?
its a double square, there are 8 points. its analagous to 12 point vs 6 point hex socket.Yep, a bit cheaper. But I'm not sure about it being a star rather than square socket.
Sure, but in the same way a 12 point socket is more likely damage a nut than an 6 point one, I'd rather have a square socket for the filler plug.its a double square, there are 8 points. its analagous to 12 point vs 6 point hex socket.
ah, gotcha.Sure, but in the same way a 12 point socket is more likely damage a nut than an 6 point one, I'd rather have a square socket for the filler plug.
Is this not available as a special tool from Nissan? I am guessing it would be cheaper than the Snap on one?
