Fellas,

I'm thinking this thread is providing evidence that Z's are old men's cars!!!!!!

It doesn't matter what age you "were" when you bought a Z all those years ago. By today's standards we are mostly middle aged or older! An MGB or MG TF or TR4 etc were all once bought by young men too.

For me the real test of the Z not being an old man's car is when I accelerate down the road or park her, it's always the young guys (4 to 20ish) who look over admiringly or rush over and say "that's a lovely car, what is it!?" :D

That never happens in my father in law's spanking TR 4 or my mate's concourse MGB GT & Jag XK120. It's always the older men with grey hair who come over to admire those. ;)

Just sayin'!

I think you about right with that.its always the young lads that say "nice car ,what is it" and to not confuse them I tell them its a Nissan 240Z as most don't know what a Datsun is

You'd be surprised how many of the younger generation into the JDM scene know about the S30's (mostly the 240Z). The youngest so far were a couple of 15/16 year old boys come up to me at a car meet earlier in the year saying 'wow a 240Z, I bet that sounds so cool!' :D

I think they would give the same response if it was a 260z or 280z as they only know them as 240z's.

Alternatively, maybe this thread is evidence that only old men have the time and inclination to answer polls about how old they are?

Also just sayin'

Yep you're probably right Andre, I thought they were all 240's before I got mine

All early shell type progressions are 240Z's but with marginally different engine sizes. I do wonder that the cars physical appearance presents the most significant appeal. Essentially though these cars represent 'classic' vehicles which will almost inevitably appeal to older 'previously younger' people. Many will have enjoyed them in their heyday.

Perhaps as time goes by current 'young' people will be fighting over the Kia Pride or SsangYong Korando at action! For me not so attractive but then who's to say?

That's a scary thought!!! Then again, not many people lust after a Ford Zypher or Ford Anglia in the same way as a Z, so we may yet be safe and people may lust after Cars like the MR2, Supra, Skyline, S2000 etc in the future.

In fact, what would you guys consider to be future classics??
