F1 - great race.

In my opinion Hamilton did everything right and was stitched up however it was a brilliant spectacle and was an exciting end to a race that was likely to end under a safety car. It was stage managed and if you were Mercedes you'd be gutted.

I say let the result stand, Hamilton has 7 championships and Max deserves something from the season. Everyone knows Mercedes were the the quickest on the day and Hamilton got the jump at the start.

However it's big business.

I'm pretty sure lewis was off track on lap one, gained a position doing so and about 1.5 seconds, breaking the DRS tow.

Redbull just managed the whole situation better.

The seasons best driver won in the second best car. Great for Honda also as they pull out.

Great result all round.

Im my view he was forced off and retained his position, he also apparently slowed to allow Max to catch up to the point they were at before Max's desperate lunge that forced him off.

No real issue with Max winning, they both deserved it. Merc would have been making their decisions based on what should happen according to the rules. To have Massi ignore those rules put them in an impossible position.

Had they restarted without allowing the other cars to unlap themselves Max would have had to get past the slower cars (all of which would have been blue flagged and moved over quickly) before catching Lewis at the end of the lap. I think that would have been more spectacular and possibly still a win for Max.

He left a massive gap, even the lewis biased commentators kept going on about it. Max Made a lunge, got past, stayed on track, he went from being half a car length behind max to being 1.5 seconds in front.

I think he would have got past the others, they would have moved miles out of the way. he was so far clear of lewis at the end, after that single lap.

I don't like Max using what in motorcycling is called a 'block pass'. He does it all the time and yes Lewis should see it coming and not leave a gap.

I also don't think that the teams should argue with the race director. However his decision making is questionable.

Great season of racing.

what's wrong with a block pass? he took the lead, stayed on the track. I like a block pass as it always screws people up for the next corner so its a bit of a gamble.

It was the best season of racing for 20 years.

Massi should resign tonight. You can’t have a sport governed by so many rules and then not adhere to them, just to make it ‘a bit more exciting’ … ridiculous stewardship.

Probably should have but then it would show the FIA acted incorrectly and then that would throw the whole result in to question. Governing bodies don't like to do that!

Wonder if it was the other way round and if there would be such an outbreak about the result if you look at the comments from the Dutch they are all think it was fantastic result
Lets all be totally Honest over the years how many decisions have gone in Hamilton's favour when he should have been seriously penalised and how many other drivers has he forced of the track to force an overtaking manoeuvre
IMHO the overall result was the best thing to happen in F1 interest as it was boring over the last few Years and has shook the whole thing up for next year
Will run away and hide behind a wall as expect a barrage of abuse from the Hamilton supporters

The decision should stand for the good of the sport. The winner was 'crowned' yesterday and it would be awful if that was overturned.

Massi must go and the rules simplified.

I think with 5 laps to go the race should have been red flagged and then a decision to either 'call it a day' or have a 5 lap sprint.

But then we have the contentious point of tyre changing?

yes but they would have been all even. 5 laps on new tyres would have been a fun finish

Franky has continously told us Mercedes is the faster car.:beatdeadhorse: so that decision is made.

We are talking about determining the best driver .. I would get both drivers to pit their cars.

Line up in full racing gear including helmet for a 400m run/ sprint/dash and first man across the line wins.

End off :)

Good points there Steve. there were even things in this race which were handed to him when they shouldn't.

Over the season max led the most laps, won the most races and I think had the most pole positions. So the best driver this year was max.

I think you're confusing me with the speed traps and the time differential over a straight. thats old us who as the 'faster' car.

All the above is exactly the reason i haven't watched F1 for many years, rules for this, rules for that, rules interpreted differently, rules ignored blah blah.....

Just have a bloody race, safety car... deal with it, opponent on new tyres.... deal with it, need to overtake cars at the back of the line... deal with it!

Christ it's so devoid half the time of any actual racing with all the rules and regulations it's a joke

I'd much rather watch racing with door mirror scrapes and bumper rubs round bends with Touring cars than your average F1 parade lap... sorry race!

All IMHO of course and no offence intended, but damn get a life :D:p
