Donington Historic Festival 2023 - 29/30 April

Yes Chris that’s the route I believe. Initially meeting at Michaelwood services on M5 at 7am, but I’m sure other stops can be arranged 😋

Wet today but will be drier tomorrow. What is the area like the Zs will be parked on? I went to Goodwood Revival one-year, all cars parked on grass and it was like Glastonbury - a mud bath...wouldn't want a repeat of that.

It's grass but I've never seen it muddy. The access road used to be muddy and long but the new access under the main straight is much better.

I was watching the BTCC last week on the TV & that area looked a bit worse for wear. It depends how well it drains & what it was like after all the spectators left last weekend. Im glad we dont have to use that long crappy infield track with all the craters in it. You could lose a car in one of those puddles!!

Guys please don't get any negative thoughts about the location or the weather etc. It takes a lot of effort to organise this event and it's a shame if members don't attend because it might rain or the roads might be muddy. Forecasts in the UK are very often pessimistic. I remember at one time Drayton Manor theme park got really annoyed because they were losing a lot of revenue through inaccurate forecasts.

This is our biggest meet for a while and we need to get off the internet and meet each other face to face.

Last year Saturday was sunny but Sunday was forecast possible showers. Well it didn't rain but a couple of people stayed away.

Some of my most memorable car meets have been when the weather hasn't been the best.

As an added attraction this year we are giving members access to our archive of magazines that contain Z articles. You can take a copy or two with you. These are just the commercially available mags that we have collected and have copywrite protection. Our archived Z Club mags and old photos are going to be digitised very soon. Again I have spent a lot of time with this stuff (including a day in south London in someone's loft retrieving it all).

I would very much be keen to have a copy of them 👍
