I was looking at some pictures of this earlier today. Don't want to hijack the thread but can anyone explain what the "megaphones" are in this system. Sounds great but also something the police wouldn't enjoy...
Please do! It's an interesting discussion

I want a 2 pipe system like the 'works' cars, exiting at the back with the megaphones. I can still remember the noise from 1971!

Sorry for my lack of updates, but things as always takes longer than expected.

The engine is out of Eijis car in the US, and is being put in a crate. I've taken the opportunity to order BRE spoilers straight to Datsun Spirit, then are being shipped in the crate. Might as well since shipping is so expensive.

We are waiting for the radiator, which is being modified to DSI standards. I think that's it, after that it's being shipped.

I received the exhaust manifold straight from Japan, it's a work of art!

now that’s a proper looking bit of kit!

Might be really weak in power at low RPM with that cam. Almost sounds like it's choking on too much fuel.
I think it's OK, about 2k to 8k in 7 seconds. On the road your doing well over 120 at the end of that.

Great choice on tyre type and size, I love that setup on mine. Looks fabulous....

Were you trying to hide in the Jag? Is it an XK120?

Haha, looks like a nice garage space to work in!

Awesome, sounds like one that'll never be parted with. That's serious long term ownership!

Also nice to see another proper father and son team. It's funny how different generations have different tastes, reminds me a lot of me and my old man :coolgleam:

Beautiful Healey!!

Yeah, my dad is definitely a part of why I got into older cars. They have always been around.

The XK will probably stay. He is restoring another one right now. He bought two of them in the 70s, so one gets to stay. Don't know which one, but the white one has sentimental value to me at least.

It's great to share a hobby like this, he is always supportive about doing things to the cars. I bet you have the same thing with your dad.

Its funny how it just runs in the family some times. That's pretty damn cool...

Absolutely, we're always talking about doing something to them. Working on something or I'm encouraging him to make it faster by modifying something else! lol

Don't you think your Dad should be wearing socks at that altitude

:EXTRAeek: My ego has just been shattered! :EXTRAlol:

Still waiting for the engine, just waiting for two oil hoses right now.

But some things from Techno toy tuning came in!

Work goes slowly. Been at it a little bit yesterday.

Nothing is stuck on the car, no rusted bolts or anything. Very happy about that.

Mounted new top mounts on the dampers. Huge difference between the two in terms of adjustability. But I have to cut some bodywork...

The parts from T3 are absolutely stunning and incredibly well made
