Depending on your fitness levels, some of London is quite easily walkable. Or you could hire an e-bike or e-scooter!

Another option is a tour bus. You buy a ticket valid for 24hrs and it will drive you around the major sites so you get your bearings and you can hop on / hop off as many times as you like at their designated stops. Some have commentaries too.

In London I walk or use the 'underground'. That is the best way to get the atmosphere but rush hour is manic. I've used a water taxi on the Thames - might be worth a go. Tower of London and Tower Bridge from the Thames?

Mike, it's all safe (as long as you don't carry rare S30 parts🤣). There are some fantastic Victorian age pubs in London. The internal bar structures are wonderful and ornate. Try our warm real ale - I wouldn't drink anything else apart from Guiness.
One of my favourites https://www.londonpubexplorer.com/central-classics/the-princess-louise

Beware in the Cotswolds you might meet Jeremy Clarkson!

Bath - the Roman Baths get your imagination going.

So much choice really.

When in London try to get to this old pub and step back in time before the great fire of London.

If you're interested in industrial heritage, Birmingham and Manchester (and many places between) have wonderful sights. Maybe for another time though.

You have enough options really but if you get to Coventry the Transport museum is very good. And nearby in Hinckley (by me) is the Triumph motorcycle factory. Good for free museum.

I think you are going to need to prioritise your objectives - perhaps your wife will do that for you 🤣. She may like Chatsworth House and Bakewell in the Peak District.

Too much to do in one trip Mike. How about a visit to Fourways Engineering?

I think bath, head onto bristol, then either south down to cornwall, see king arthurs seat or up to Chatsworth for a morning then Manchester?

That's a lot to fit into 7 days though I reckon.

And as much as I love where I live, and as much as I'd love to meet you in person Mike, I wouldn't rush to include Manchester in your itinerary 😂
It's a very important part of England's history, but I think you and your wife are probably looking for a more olde worlde experience of England, of which there's more than enough of in the areas you were talking about.

Yes, lots to see and limited time to see it.

It is important to me to try and meet up with at least a few of you chaps on our trip so I am gonna try and make that happen.

Thanks for all the suggestions and I will be connecting with several of you via FB and cell prior to the trip to make arrangements.

Cheers

Having a great time in the UK. Spent time in Edinburgh and Inverness last week… a day trip to Isle of Skye was amazing.
I’ve been in London for about 4 days now and met up with Johnnymd and his wife for dinner, we had a great time and plan to meet up again next year Las Vegas when John comes on holiday.
Today we are off on the train from Waterloo to Windsor Castle for a half day outing.
Leaving tomorrow out of Heathrow for Cali for warmer weather but really have enjoyed the UK and the people.
Cheers, Mike

Glad you have enjoyed it here Mike. I have had many good times with John Palmer (trackdays, Le Mans, Spa) - great guy.
