Another high end car auction

I said this was because from the outside it looks nigh identical to my standard 260Z, and the interior is also nigh identical yet my car is valued at $25,000 at the most.
I realise the Z432 is a rarer beast and has many internal differences including a much more powerful engine - but I PERSONALLY can't see how that equates to an additional $125,000 outlay.
Given the choice, I would rather have my car on the drive and $125,000 in the bank.

To be honest, I'd rather have the car which is better than money in the bank !

Think about the price of Toyota 2000GTs 10 years agao, reflect on nospark's comments re 911s....I reckon it's a bargain as much as Big Sam was !

Riddler, you are spot on, here is the man with status in full technicolor ;)

He hasn't got any prettier.

Seeing as the ad tells you b***** all about the car, what do you know about it, Sean?

Is that an original G Nose steering wheel ?

Aw c'mon mate....that is an OEM Nismo gear lever and Samuri head - those carbs were once on the Le Mans car - bargain and bound to leap in value.

wow....

Looks a million dollars. It has that exotic Italian look about it, ferrari or lambo esque..and the wire wheels give it that classic period look. Elements of the E type kick in. And the interior is simply another level. The genuine walnut steering and gearknob and superb leather seats is breathtaking...and the triple webbers and magical yellow coil lead just finish the look.

If you parked this side by side with an ordinary 240\260z, one would struggle to conclude that they are the same car under the skin. Exterior, interior, engine all looks different.

Got to be be bargain at that price for sure? I mean why isn't this US$150k or am I missing the point somewhere?:rolleyes:

I agree - this looks like a beautiful car at a realistic price. I personally am not too keen on the headlight covers but that is a personal preference thing. Otherwise the car is a real stunner.

Apart from the WeBers (with one 'B' please) I have to agree but maybe you missed the GTO input...

Taste all personal of course ;) but wire wheels are a definite no-no for me on a Z - leave them to the British Classics of the 50s and 60s plus Borranis on some period Ferraris.

Also against prevailing opinion on here so far not keen on steering wheel and gear knob !

Seems reasonable value if it has been correctly restored - should come in around £ 25k with a bit of hard negotiation, tell 'em to keep the wheels

Quote from advert

' About the Seller: We are Garaged com - A car storage facility based from Redhill, Surrey...Because of the nature of what we do, we're often informed about cars available for sale off market, or as with this car...A car we've been notified of by the owner which is now available for sale. We oversee any viewings & handle the sale of the car on behalf of busy owners. '

Plus take a bloody big commission for doing so too  Nice work if you can get it ;)

£ 27k with a dealer on Autotrader, £ 33k with storage guys on Pistonheads ???? Go figure as our American cousins are fond of saying.

Yea missed the hideous steering wheel and gear knob. But as you say, when it is knocked down into the 20s, for a '72 240z it doesn't seem a bad car if it HAS had a full restoration as it says. But, as we all know, I am no expert.

A couple or three members might want to look up to the skies above them.

The Irony Blimp is pretty quiet, but it's there nonetheless....

By definition, it hasn't been 'restored'. It's a custom car.

HTH.

Seemed to remember it mentioning in the article that you played bass. I played lead guitar in rock bands around Manchester in my youth, then in the 90s set up a very successful Beatles' tribute band (got myself a Rickenbacker 330). But that all ended around 14 years ago and don't do anything music-wise now. Every spare moment I get I'm out in my Z!
