Z on screen

I have spotted 4 z's in film.
the Incredible hulk original pilot episode of the tv series Bill Bixby drives a rust coloured 260Z, John Carpenters "Big trouble in little china" features a red Z31, Tarantino's "Kill Bill" has a blue Z32 (got a bit excited that night and dropped my popcorn), Jim carey in "Bruce Almighty" drives a banged up (i think) 240Z, and i've been told by a friend that the main character in 80's show "the scarecrow and Mrs King" drives a Z31 but i cant remember......... so I'd love to hear of more!

I think the Z in Bruce Almighty is a 280z apparently.

As for other starring Zs I don't know :)

Isn't there an old thread on this somewhere in the distant past??

A search for "Bruce Almighty" throws up several threads and I'm sure there are more....

TimeCop has a Z in too! When they're walking through the mall at some point, there's a stand in the background for the "new" Z32 :D

Only other one I remember was some crime investigation doco (saw the same one twice so it stuck in my head), where the suspect/killer/whatever drove a black 260 (or 240?). One of the bits of evidence they found was paint traces on his front wing where he'd driven into the victim's pink bicycle. Sacriledge!

I have an old copy of timecop on video (remember them?!) and out of pure annoyance to my other half started pulling wires around to reconnect vcr , and found that scene with Mr. Van Damme doing a pretty impressive kick in front of "New 1994 Model". Shame on me for missing it before!
I've often wondered what it must have been like owning a brand new 300zx in the early 90's , as i think of the other cars of that decade and remember seeing one in Craig cave car park in 1992. I sat in my Renault 5 looking at this aggressive looking machine , twin exhausts, beautiful sleek lines, ................................never forgotten that day

You probably remember some daft yank who went joyriding in a tank some years back. The chase now appears in some "police stop" type program on men & motors or bravo and it shows the trail of destruction he left including a yellow z (280 i think) which he ran straight over.

As Mike says...this has been discussed several times before on various threads...And the ultimate 300ZX z31 movie is "Blind Date" starring Bruce Willis and Kim Basinger, where he drives a white Z31 throughout the film, gradually destroying it in the process!

Just spotted the 350z in the "End of Part 1" clip for Coronation street. I don't watch it at all, just luckily caught that bit.

quite a lot of clues of Z33 in...... fast & Furious 2

and the the upcomng F&F will feature lots of drifting Z33s too :D

Val, yeh Nick was saying about the drifting 350s in F&F3, lets hope the film is a little more like the first one and nothing like the second.

There was also a s30 in another Herbie film, Herbie Goes to Monte Carlo, which only appeared in the qualifying race

Holy thread resurrection Batman! That's a necro-bump if there ever was!

I think this has been round the houses a few times over the years. I can think of a bunch of examples;

Top Gun - 240Z in the background crossing an intersection when Kelly McGillis is driving the Porsche 356 with Maverick following on the bike.
Speed - white 240Z gets overtaken when Keanu is chasing down the bus in the Jag XJS. Also - 280ZX gets launched off a flatbed on an exit road by the bus when they have to swerve off the freeway.
Capricorn One - 280Z features quite prominently in a few scenes.
Loads of others I can't think of right now! Generally, most 70s-80s movies with scenes showing the streets of Californian cities have a strong chance of featuring a Z of some form.

Watched ‘The Golden Child’ yesterday (I think it was yesterday), and there was a 280z spotted. You’re almost guaranteed to see an S30 in an American film of that era; they're all over the place.

There’s a Z in nearly every Marvel film. Back end of a 350Z makes a brief entry in the opening studio animation sequence at the beginning of each film. A 280ZX makes it into two Terminator films, Terminator Salvation and Terminator Genisys (T-top coupe) It’s all I got😋
