What did you do to your Z this week?

Just putting the final touches to one of my seats which I have recoloured. I’m doing all the interior vinyl in one go, taking ages to do but it’ll look lovely when done ...

Very nice, is that off white or a very light grey?

Off white - or 'ivory' as they call it ... I'll do a comparison of all of the vinyl when finished and a review of the Furniture Clinic stuff that I'm using ...

I’ve fitted a new reversing switch and speedo drive cable. I think they were both leaking gearbox oil.
And cleaning exhaust valves and making cam tower dowels.

Being doing wiring and its a long process and its still not finished

This month I have mostly been..........polishing (again). Doing a spot of porting and polishing work on a spare cylinder head because I'm bored. Ports all done just the combustion chambers to do and endless measurements to get them equal.

Thanks John I’m kinda pleased with it. Where did you get the pump drive gear from btw??

I put my z on skates/dollies so that I could make more room in the garage..bought them from SG engineering...very well made and price wasn't bad... Would recommend.

Finally got the engine where it belongs

I agree. Looks great.
Can I pick some nits?
Surely you’re going to have air filters, no? And I’d recommend upgrading to a bypass fuel pressure regulator, They’re better in a couple of ways.

Thanks guys, I'm very pleased about how it's coming together.
I love the look of these open side trumpets but realise they are not very practical for everyday road use, so will likely get a cold air induction box and filter before getting on the road.
Tell me more about bypass fuel pressure regulators though please.

As part of a interior revamp, I've been working on restoration of interior decals and switches. Pretty chuffed with results thus far.:)
