Just spotted this 'very rare' 240z for sale on rods and sods

DATSUN 240Z DROPHEAD

Very rare 1971 drophead 240z . LHD no rust which is rare. 150bhp std engine , nice interior.

I don't think they have improved the look to be honest....
 
No, not an improvement.
It also makes you wonder what they have done to the front of the car (apart from the wing/scuttle/inspection hatch blending).
 
I saw a car like this at Billing many years ago (late 90s). It even be the same one. Yes you do wonder about the structural ingegrity and the strength of the screen pillars.

There's a lot of questions here, such as, how do you fill up the washer fluid if that ever runs low, what happens if there is an issue with the wiper linkage or motor. Further to that, how do you access the boot space which is now inaccessible, what happens if a bulb ever goes in the rear? I do wonder what sort of person will buy this.

S30 Convertible spotted

Is this car in the club? In this months news letter from my local classic car club, an S30 spotted at a show near Bodiam castle, although this was back in June apparently. From the description, its an Aussie import, but did Nissan Australia really do this as an official conversion?

I hadn't noticed the lack of an opening boot. Why wouldn't you just build that into it. What a waste of space.
 
Perhaps the roof was cut off to replace a sunroof on another car and a rear hatch was wanted. Then they thought 'what can I do with this'?

Yeah probably imported by someone without realising how difficult it would be to get registered.

Yes that is mine, it has been converted, it's geninue rhd uk 260z and now has a pandem kit being fitted. Mine has been done well, full use of boot etc.
