Top Gear-New Series!

There is always the option to not watch it. Then you won't be disappointed and grumble about it. Everyone knows what it's gonna be like so don't bother tuning in if you don't like the show or any of the presenters. You could always watch re-runs of that other pile of w*nk, with "oooh, we're all proper drivers who love track days and drive beamers for fun" crap on channel 5 (or 4, can't remember which one it is. I don't watch it because it's not entertaining so I don't watch it then moan it's crap).

Mind you,,the freakin things ALWAYS started,,,even at - 45 C when everyone else was frozen solid,,I would be clunking down the road in my piece o crap,,,but getting there !;)

It's not always crap though!...The problem is you've got to watch it first to find out!
I don't think this week's will go down as a classic.... to watch again on Dave!

It's not a case of if you don't like it don't watch it, as this is a discussion thread to discuss the good and bad bits of the programme each week.

Quite right JEZ this one must be the worst ever without Boris in, it would have been a total waste of time & I still think it was better in one half hour format.

loved the caterham r500 and the car chase through the shopping mall

Yes I liked the caterham but thought that car chase was f - - - ing stupid then to finish off in a f - - -ing boat was pointless. PLUS they used a poxy festa!

I think they are running out of ideas. A lot of the themes seem to be pointless based around JCs ego. Although i may be biased as they appear to hate our cars so much.
The cateram was very quick but it is a 36k unpractical go-kart. When the GTR trashed most of the exotic machinery on the track they hardly blinked, Hammond muttered something about Datsuns as usual. A good idea would be to to bring home modified motors in for a track test not the stuff 99% of us couldn't afford. A well sorted early z would be the ticket.

I thought JC's ego was the point of the show! :p

Top gear started out as a motoring program with interesting tips & things to buy & road tests with unbiased facts & figures that gave the general public an idea if it was going to be a good buy.
Now it is just Clarkson taking the piss out of everything he doesn't like (what exactly does he like?).

Not Jap cars, that's for sure. When they did the GTR race against the Bullet Train he was loving it. Around the track, yep, they were loving it. Now comes the cool wall and all of a sudden it's just 'some Datsun'. I'm sure he's only doing it to piss people off and get a reaction but there you go.

Certainly an interesting slant on electric cars.

Electric cars for every day use, will save our oil so we can enjoy our Zeds for longer. I hadn't looked upon it that way before, but I reckon I am converted. After all, I couldn't give a stuff if the likes of a Renault Vel Satis (as a random example:p) and the rest of the 'family' cars are ran with electric motors, so long as I can continue enjoying the Datsun for pleasure! :D

With several million hydrogen powered cars emitting water out of their exhausts won't it cause flash flooding? :D:eek:

And doesn't the process of making hydrogen in itself create CO2?

That Tesla seemed to roll a bit in the corners. I adore the Elise 111S. My mate had one in red and it made me giggle like a twat every time I was in it (it was like playing Outrun in the arcades in the late 80s), so I like the styling but i'd still rather have the real thing. The hydrogen power cars are certainly the way forward but imagine how much we'll pay tax on evrything else because the only thing adding price to the hydrogen at the pumps is the lack of them to begin with. Once there are lots of them the cost of EVERYTHING ELSE will go nuts in this country. The government will put council taxes up to ridiculous levels because they can't hide the awesome levels of duty on petrol any more. Thank fuck I can fly!
