It's been 18 months since I updated this thread, but as I don't keep a project thread for this car like most others I own I thought it would be as good a place as any to bring the record up to date.
Up until the end of summer the car ran without a glitch, flew every MOT and was even featured in Practical Classics magazine. I have done a few shows and driven her rather hard on occasion, and it has been a thoroughly enjoyable experience.

On that day, I had some annoying brake judder, so I opted for new discs and a complete caliper rebuild during summer of this year
Then my first mishap... After the last show of the summer the throttle stuck playing with another car, the result was a big overrev. It was about an hour after this video was shot.

The result was a bent valve (yes, only one), but whilst that was being addressed we decided to give her some attention. The work done in the past few months includes:
Valve replacement, and light polishing of head ports
New water pump
Complete new gasket set
All fluids changed (engine, gearbox, coolant, brakes etc etc)
New plugs and leads

The end result is she now runs better than ever and is a complete joy to drive. Below is a little celebratory video my missus took earlier today

She is now back away for a top up of Swissvax Shield and will come back out once salt stops going down.
