Some pictures of my white '73 240z...

I haven't taken or posted many pictures of my Z yet, mainly due to not having had much time to use it. I am once again working away from tomorrow so I was determined to take her for a little run today.

I originally planned to take it out and see Big Rex but the weather was really unpredictable so I couldn't organise anything. Instead, me and the good lady ended up popping to the driving range for the only hour of the day when the roads were all but dry.

It's such a relief that she loves the car. She hates me spending money on the Mk2 Escort, but as loves the Z spending pennies on this is much less of a challenge.

Filling up

Such an oversized rear end (you don't have to look too hard) :smash:

Hi Madda, your car is as good as I always thought it would be. ;)

Your 'partner' looks like Lyndsey de Paul.

Both car and girl very stylish.

Great pictures.

And that is quickly becoming my favourite colour for an S30. The black plates suit it well too ;)

Yeah, they are both beauts ;)

LDP, I did some searching as not a name I had heard. Seems like a bit of a colourful lady but Carli certainly didn't take it as an insult. :)

The front plate is pressed metal, but the rear is just a temp vinyl one I had made up yesterday. I so wish it was 240M and not 260 but you can't have everything. :smash:

Pics all taken with an iPhone! Light was awful in the petrol station but at the golf course it was just about right.

Thank you, means a lot looking at your car.

When I originally started looking for a 240z about five years ago I had dreams of a wild engine conversion and silly spec and if I ended up building something anything like yours I would have been thrilled. But when this beauty fell into my lap I really couldn't turn it down; it really is too good and original to start chopping about.

In some ways this is a shame as I have boosted a lot of naturally aspirated cars, done an rb26 conversion in another Nissan and am running a jap engine in my mk2 Escort. For these reason I am looking out for a RHD conversion package and once I have that in hand I will be looking for the right 240z to import and do something silly with; I can't wait. I just missed out on two conversion packages on here in the past few months so if anyone has one, please let me know.

Stunning car, mine is 340M so close but not quite there :) Don't/can't the Police stop you with the Silver/Black Plates? I thought they could only go on up to a 73, I wanted to fit them to mine (a 74) but thought I'd get pulled.

Just a beautiful car in a beautiful colour - but what makes it so special is that it looks so original. You haven't bolted big arches on or souped up the engine. You have kept the beautiful lines that made this car such a stunner in the first place. The only thing I am not keen on (personally) is the Nissan name on the mudflaps. But a superb car that is a pleasure to look at!

All credit for the styling goes to Ken Bartlett (and Datsun of course :) ). He lovingly restored what was already a very tidy Z back in the early 90's and it hasn't changed since, other than some head work to go unleaded and a few other bits and pieces. We have been in touch and should be linking up at some point so he can take his old love affair for a spin.

By all accounts, Ken used to help run the Z Register so some of you guys may remember him.

You even have the protective rubber mat behind the filler cap; I bet there aren't many cars with that?
