When I bought my car the advert said it was 'recorded on the Z club register' now I've been here a while and I am still yet to see this Z Club register (I still have the advert too).

And as for the register, well that is all horseshit as we know......and even the cars recorded have the wrong owners attributed to them among other errors.

It really can have little credibility until there is some provenance behind it and we all know that just isn't going to happen.

Perhaps because there seems to be no right or wrong answer... to some people it might mean an awful lot, to others, nothing at all :)

So, I think we all agree :

What relevance is it whether or not a Samuri is listed in the register or not ?

And Guy, the question was rhetorical.;)

Back to the actual topic, I'm not going to stand up for Duncan with regards to how he may or may not have conducted his businesses over the years as I don't know the full story, and I can't comment on the rebuild either as I haven't seen it in the metal, but this car is on the register (for what that is worth) or at least one with that particular registration number is.

The car Duncan's selling does look nice from the limited pics, although I can not see how it comes to that sort of value. Part of me does wonder if its wearing one of those nice new bulkheads :)

You noticed that too? I was wondering the same.

JK, how do you know what the registration number is of the car Duncan is selling?

No I don't think that's the same car as the one in the magazine advert. That one sold at the NEC last year and was not a great example, lots of very simple things overlooked or done badly, I was at the sale. And if it is the same car how can it have gone up twenty grand since November...?

He does seem to be restoring them and photographing them in a very similar way though...

Another car not on the (in)famous 'Register' ;)

And despite the rather strong 'coincidence', you still believe it to be a different car - why ?

Because of a large price difference in just 1x year ?

No Sean, not because of the price difference, why would Duncan sell the Silverstone car in November last year for £48k and then much less than a year later be trying to sell the same car for 20 grand more than it achieved in an auction?

The advert says the car will be ready in June, the Silverstone car was clearly, if poorly, finished. He's obviously just using the first car for photographic purposes...!

I'm fairly confident I know which car it is purporting to be but it's not my place to say.

No depths to the man - using photos of another car to advertise one at +£60k !

Although "why would Duncan sell the Silverstone car in November last year for £48k and then much less than a year later be trying to sell the same car for 20 grand more than it achieved in an auction?"

Wouldn't you like to be doing the same ?;)
