Rust free straight running uk registered cars are around for way under 10k. Just have to search a little.

I was offered a MINT original paint etc LHD CA car last week for 20k if you're interested?

It's here in the UK I believe

Be a shame to 'break' one up like that :

Not crazy horsepower or an engine transplant, but a nice rebuilt stock motor or 280z swap.
Flares / rota 17" wheels (I can actually source the wheels in the UK easily enough)
Nice fenders (not the hideous and huge crash barriers some US spec cars have

the white one sounds good. I had a quote from Z Farm of over £40k to referb one when I called them. That's just too much. I want someone else to have paid that!

As I said at the beginning. A 10k one that I could run for a couple of years might not be a bad shout, as in a few years I hopefully will be able to afford a proper rebuild.

I'm genuinely not bothered whether it's lhd or rhd.

the place i found that has a lots for pennies is craigslist in the US. But I'm guessing you get what you pay for...

Someone else paying won't have your taste.

I like it - LH or RH - good man !

And you STILL don't see what you're buying.

10k should get you a reasonable car but..... For this money you will get a money pit of a RHD car or a very solid, straight trouble free LHD car but not one I would drive around for a couple of years in. EVERY import will need the underside stripped and properly sealed then wax oiled to protect it from the UK weather. They will also ALL need fully rebuilt running gear to be drive-able and safe. I've imported 5 rust free cars any they all need this before they hit the road. This pushes the cost up but is worthwhile to preserve the rust free condition. Its almost criminal not to do this. Mine are all for sale but not until this has been done.

Hi Johny,

Thanks for your comments.

"They will also ALL need fully rebuilt running gear to be drive-able and safe"
What parts would you suggest rebuilding specifically?

"underside stripped and properly sealed then wax oiled"
Whats invoiced in this, do you know anyone who does this. Has anyone had it done by a third party and what are the costs?

Thanks

Stu

The "Blanche" car being discussed in the separate thread, looks like a good option, it's had the work done and more to the point you can go and see it, rather than take a punt on the description written by the seller in another country

My thoughts exactly

I think you're all mad. 23k for a left hooker? No way!

That pro leftie camp keeps on telling us LHD is the new black.:smash:

Sean at €35k landed in mainland Europe would it still be able bargain? You know the Euro market very well and just getting your opinion of how strong it is at the > €30k level for non competition based s30's?

You're right - none of our cars 'are worth it' !

Nothing personal because your opinion is just one of many other similar ones here including those who run the club....

I despair for the cars....and the club 'that cares for them' !

Surely the club's insurance valuation expert could better answer that of cars advertised within the UK ?
Doesn't the club here follow Z sales to have at least an approximate idea of 'sold-for' as opposed to advertised values ?

Competition cars come up so rarely (when did you last see one for sale and I don't mean 'rally-prepared') that they should be treated case by case.
