Again if it was RHD I reckon it would have sold.
If it was a 240z it would have sold.
It needs converting with bumpers/gearbox etc also. Plus the massive holes that would be left.
OK Jason, genuinely interested to know your reasoning behind the statement ' if it was 240Z it would have sold '
Is that something you believe yourself or you think the market/others in general believe ?
Would you yourself have bought a 260Z ? If so, how much cheaper would you expect it to have been ?
Interested as I am currently doing a comprehensive restoration on an RLS30 - although will be converting to RHD which will make it far more attractive to the market and get it over the line for a successful sale.
Agree the advertised car needs smaller bumpers, a 5 speed box, a revised rear diff and those wheels don't look right. They are from later 280Z and pretty sure the 260Z RLS30 never came with those as factory fitment.
Interesting thought process Jason. I occasionally come across buyers who are the same, they only want a 240Z and nothing else hence my question.
Those people that only want a 240Z and nothing else have been brainwashed by the media and haven't actually driven one of each.
Lovely car with the aforementioned mods performed would refine the looks so we're talking of a £25k car all done.....starts to feel expensive especially when most will compare it to the purchase of a 240Z.
Just another proof that the 240Zs need to go up in value to pull the others up behind.
This is sad though :
Imported by my friend and I in July 2018. It took him months to find this example.
First owner registered it new in the very dry state of Arizona and only drove it to 55k miles.
The second owner garaged it and that is where it remained until our acquisition in July.
So basically a flip and at least one previous owner who never enjoyed the car....
Sean, that’s a crock of crap.
It’s got nothing to do with media. I haven’t driven one of each, not many have.
You can’t moan about them ‘flipping’ it happens on here, all over Facebook etc. Are they not an actual business?
Can you try to quantify this post of yours? Can you explain brainwashing?
It goes something like this, 240z is better than 260Z is better than 280Z is better than 2+2 of any kind is better than a ZX ooooh but hang on, what about the ZX turbo, oh yeah, but I've got an early vented hatch 240Z, ha ha well I've got an earlier vin number, well mine is in the rarest colour, I've got a 432 trumps you all ........... and so it goes on.
For those obsessed with the 'value' of cars, I can see why they'd want a 280z to be 'valued' the same as a 240z.
For example, it looked like you were calling people brainwashed for wanting a particular car.
