Sean, I've been to the Classic twice not once and the dress code was just a distraction and not evident. I attend historic racing meetings for the cars and racing not the clothing.
If you want to go to a 'Classic' fashion show feel free.
I BEG your pardon - twice !
You're missing the whole aim of the atmosphere if you go, sit and watch the cars on the track in your mankini.
I can only reiterate that the organisers have stressed that they'd like to upgrade the total 'look of the event - probably having studed Goodwood Revival etc

I don't see what your problem is or understand why the fashion-show comment but I will (in 2018) strongly stipulate the dress-code before anyone spends any money.
Then people can either come on our stand, participate and not let the others down or they can go park up in the multi-make car-park on the edge of the circuit grounds.
I don't see the fuss about dressing a little smart for basically one day - Saturday - one can always chill out back at the campsite and during the night whilst watching the racing.
There IS a competition to win helicopter rides, track passes, VIP tickets and other goodies but as a club, we're doomed.
