At present I THINK the UK's ONLY GENUINE 2006 Dodge Charger 5.7 HEMI Police cruiser.

Electric windows, central locking, ABS, Traction ESP, A/C, Cruise, runs on 4 cylinders when cruising and auto switches when power is applied

Updated ECU (latest program)

Same platform as Chrysler 300C Dodge/Chrysler servicable.

This is my daily drive and fuel is pretty good at 20+, if you need to ask exact figures well maybe its not for you.........

I've owned Dually's, Vipers, NSX's even a Ferrari and this attracts so much more attention, so really not for the shy as you've already guessed.

There's a company that makes replacement parts/panels for all of the MOPAR hall of fame. It's a US firm and the parts are all new metal (so would rust at the speed of a new car). Mate, that is a f*cking dream car. If I had a soul and it was worth anything I'd have it in a heartbeat. Charger, 'Cuda, Riviera, Cutlass... Oh my! Free-breathing masterclass is now in session.

The BAD ASS mother of all yank cars:bow: id have 1??????????? no id have 2 if i could I love em:driving:

Russ, that is typical of a classic/cult car that if in perfect condition would be worth having so people think they are all fantastic. That one is an absolute pile of shite! And what's more a 240 would run rings around one on a track.

No contest. That Dodge (although it had power steering as standard) handles similarly to a canal barge. And with all that power (over 400 horses) it still only had drum brakes. Not only a 240 would piss over it at the track but I dare say a reasonable Astra diesel would. The drivability is meaningless here. It (like so many icons) is an incredible looker but unlike the Z could only go forward with any real conviction. But the love of muscle cars is not about the road holding or nimbleness. Just the 11 o'clock off the blocks and most of all, that noise!

so if you met your favourite pin-up who since you last saw her had become paralysed from the waist down and in a wheel-chair - you'd be drooling and dreaming all night ?

Get real, drive a Z THEN see what really floats yer boat ! That Charger is unloved, has been forgotten and will cost an absolute fortune to restore, all for the joy of burning out your tyres and ? litres of expensive petrol on a straight line....ooer better not start slagging off straight-line junkies here.......

Anyway, a Challenger is the one to go for and what did that cheap-ass Blade drive ?

My favourite pin-up of all time is Diana Rigg when she was in the Avengers and she doesn't look the same now but I'd still go there for sure (it's all in the eyes).

I thought Blade had a black charger too (and Vin Diesel in Fast & Furious). The Challenger is also a cool car (the new one is too). The z28 Camaro always gets a look in too. I'm not talking about the car as a car as the Z would beat it hands down at all posts except for the sound track and up to 60. I like the Charger because it's lines are fabulous. It's as aero-dynamic as an Edwardian kitchen but it looks menacing. The Z is a whole different thing. Like the E-Type, 275GTB, 2000GT and 33 Stradale it's a sexy, curvy car. It's like this: I like porn films because I like chicks, but I also like the Rocky films because an old guy beats the piss out of younger people. QED

It's worth saving, they aren't going to make any more 68 440 R/Ts. It's a damned site more worth saving than an S30 and we see them in worse condition being brought back to life. That is a pile of shite, but a bloody good looking one. I also don't have £25k to drop on a nicer one, as my first message said "Probably the only chance I'll get to buy a (crap) 440 R/T with matching numbers within the next ten years :D". It's automotive art to me, people spend that money on sculptures for their garden, I'd have a rotting charger instead.

You know so long as it didn't get any worse I'd happily dedicate a space in the shop just to sheet it over and dream about it for the next ten years whilst I saved to get it done :)

And what's more a 240 would run rings around one on a track.

And my spanner does a much better job of undoing nuts than my screwdriver??? What's your point?? :p lol

They don't handle, they don't even accelerate that fast, they aren't economical, they aren't practical, they aren't cheap...

ALL of which are moot points because none of that matters, it's all about presence which it has in abundance and the millions of times I watched Bullet as a kid :driving:

Soul still for sale, can program most languages, can design large scale software for you, and can do most things IT related.

Russ if you want it you have it mate, that's why we work, so we can have what we want. its about personal choice in the end.

Why not? Just go for it buddy, get it shipped over you'll get it over here for the equivalent in pounds then even if it just sits under a cover its there for when you're ready to build it :D

Ahh I don't have a spare 5k or whatever it'd end up costing lol, halfway through buying a house at the moment hence 'soul for sale' :D

Then I'll have to repair said house

Then build workshop for said house

Then buy charger

So only another 15 years or so to wait lol :)

My 1968 love of my life was this:

GTO0001.jpg

Bought for £1400 while I was building my V8 240Z back in 1982 / 83. Good performance, not too bad handling and one of the few cars I've owned personally that sold for a profit after a couple of years ownership. It went on to be fully refurbished, repainted orange, converted to manual and six pack carbs to become a show winner at American car events - where are you now? The only thing that could have been better would have been if it were a Judge model...better, even with the flat old Pontiac 400, than those asthmatic Chryslers. GM rules in the V8 world.

Or as someone will undoubtedly post:

"I'd rather eat worms than drive a [insert manufacturer of choice]"

LOL, I've owned a couple of yanks plus my left hand drive US import Z, I had a 5.7lt shark nose camero which was just as rubbish as nearly every other yank barge unless you where traveling in a straight line, Even that was scary if you needed to actually stop at any point :eek:.

By far the worst piece of yank tat I owned though was a 1973 8.2lt caddy coupe de vile , What a pile of junk that was. even with 2 batteries fitted it barley turned over but it did have auto wipers and self dipping head lights plus electric seats .

I still love the idea of owning something like a dodge charger but I know that in reality they are all pretty horrendus to drive compared to even a similar age european car, But then again their is those glorious engine to think about :bow::bow::bow::bow:.

There's a 1971 charger for sale on ebay at the moment if you want a real project! Not quite the right year though although very tempting all the same!
