help!

whats your views on me selling the z to buy another rs guys, im relay confused at the moment!:(

Just go buy one.
You have only had the datsun 10 minutes. Its probably not your thing so get rid.
Since you bought it at mates rates you can probably sell it for a tidy profit and get another Ford.
JFDI:)

Looks like a nice car you've got Eddie, shame to sell but if you really want the RS then you should go for it and as someone mentioned you should make a profit. So quids in for you.

Shame if you're off as you were injecting some energy to the club with organising meets.

if i do sell you wont be getting rid of me!:)

Not until your next m/ship subs are due.................

My view (apart from that of Moggys') is that you are the LUCKY owner of a rare and fabulous true sportscar - think hard before exchanging that for banality !

I agree with Sean.

What do you miss about an RS? What can an RS give you that a Z can't?

I've looked at your pictures, in my view the Black RS looks like a toy car, the Z looks like a sports car.

What I like about sports cars is that they are designed as a whole and have instant identity. From a distance you could have a standard Mk 2 Escort and make it look like an RS. You can't get a shopping version of a Z.

I'm 58 so old enough to remember Mk 1 RS2000s never mind the Mk 2, in fact I prefer Mk 1s. They were good rally cars but for me not as special as a Z.

But if Fords are in your blood

When I were a lad, I used to have a geniune AVO Mk1 RS 2000 in Olympic blue with a 2.1 litre, Vulcan big valve head and forest arches, loved it to bits, went like stink (well I thought it did)......... truth is it had about 170 hp, ran about 6.5-7 seconds to 60 and did about 130mph.

No comparison with what I have now, you could offer me a RS 1600 personally signed by Timo Makinen's dog and I would have to think long and hard.

As for the later "Ar-es's" and "Cossies" leave them in their natural habitat.......Billericay, along with the white stilletos and Burberry shell suits:p

LMAO !

So why do poeple nick 'em ? I know they're easy.........like most things from Essex - but why?

Getting cautious (or has the real-life definition of fastest and quickest been spelt out to you) ? Fastest and quickest NA L6 powered 240Z in the UK

I say do what ever makes you happy matey, If your heart belongs to Ford how ever misguided that maybe then sell the Z and buy another over priced rust bucket lol (just kidding). Personally I've dreamed of owning another Z since the day I mistakenly let my last one go.

I like Fords but not enough to buy another one myself, My first car was a Capri 3000 GT XLR many many years ago, I've also owned over 30 P6 rover 3500S's but it's still the Z that gets my juices flowing.

Here's a test - Park your Z and a mates RS at any show, pub, or shopping center and see which one attracts the most attention. I think you'll find the Z wins by a landslide. As an American I could never understand the appeal of these little Fords, in my opinion they are an ugly car. The only possible appeal is their genuine race heritage, but that could be said for any Z also.

thanks for your opinions chaps, now im relay confused, i suppose the main reason for getting another rs is cos im a senior member on the main club in the uk and loads of my mates are there too, saying that' im the few weeks i have been on here i have had a few good chats with some great blokes, i just dont know, i think i should keep the z for a year to realy see what it turns out like, thats gotta be the answer!

Get rid quick! The longer you leave it, then the more you'll want to keep it. Then, you'll have to own the Zed AND an RS! ;)

keep it for the year as you say
Your mates should be there for you for you no matter what car you have if they aint they are not true mates
And also look at it this way after a year you will have loads of mates on both sites and you will have increased your social side by 100%

cheers steve, i feel like a silly little boy who needs a good spanking (now theres a thought!), just feel i need to realy get involved with this club and try to make a few buds on here, hears to the first meet ( well second if you include me and tom meeting on Saturday):D

Mmmm f**d rs, now for what its worth iv had only 1 true early rs and a couple iv done myself and 2 cossies also a few other fast fords (oops said it lol) and i loved them all and still do and would have an early rs any day but i would never have it over a Z because iv loved them since i was 17 when i had my 1st 1, i think its the look the sound the feel even the smell inside of something special. a car you cant copy from a basic model, knowing your not likely to have 1 pull up at the side of you at the lights, things like that. BUT if you feel like that about an rs then that's the car for you, you don't have something for other ppl you have it for you. just my thoughts
