The trouble is you can’t use them how they’re meant to used. Far better to have one that’s not quite as good that can be used.
You are so right that’s one of the reasons I am selling my e type i get nervous when I can’t see it Can not park it any where with out thinking has some hit it

Just came back from looking at it. Your value was spot on I think by thoughts

good solid car
Door shuts need work on both sides , gaps not the same side to side or top to bottom
Lots of details bits need doing
Not worth 45 k to me or 40k
Nice guy

In conclusion nice car but not pristine

Did you drive it?

House he did not make that money sell old cars
He buys and sells old cars but also run a used dealership selling Range Rovers and other higher end cars plus a bodyshop. He's also a property developer and plays saxophone as a session musician all over the world. He's a busy boy!

Looks like he wasted your time getting you to go and have a look knowing that some of the detailing needs finishing and door gaps not right but like I always say if you want a decent car you have to get up off yer butt and go and have a look

Mmmm your right I made him a offer but he said it was far to low and he had turned down offers of 40k maybe I will regret not buying it but it’s the 1st one I looked at and I am in no hurry

Hmm. Given the detail issues you noted and the turning down 40k offers, that one might be hanging around for a while. Personally, I still think for a car to genuinely command 40k+ every detail needs to be buttoned down perfectly, whether it be a standard car or a restomod. At the moment, the cars that get advertised in that region are often “speculative” shall we say. Or opportunistic.

I absolutely agree. He is a dealer which means he will need to get more for it.

I think all his car related activity is done through his bodyshop and dealership, so he does have several premises to pay for. Like all things, it's worth as much as someone is willing to pay.

He doesn’t ‘need’ to as he has no premises as such and isn’t it one of many sidelines? He can’t really justify ‘dealer prices’ as he has no shiny chrome and glass palace to pay for …

Think his shiny chrome and glass palace is his house :EXTRAeek:

Car dealers and estate agents pretty much the same can’t be trusted will sell you anything they can talk you into, really up to the buyer what he decides to buy but shouldn’t be influenced by the seller with no qualifications.:EXTRAeek:EXTRA:(

I wonder what made the guy selling the white 240Z advertise it at exactly £44,993?

An advertised amount is just a guess of it's value anyway and a starting point for negotiation surely.

How could anyone work out that their car is worth £44,993?
