Spoke to the owner in great detail and see all the photos and more but a 15 k mark up profit for doing nothing is a bit of a pissss take I reckon,think you could get more for less money,wot people ask and wot they get are two different things that’s why the more expensive cars are up for sale for a very long time on average,we all like to think our cars are worth 35-45 k but you try getting that in the real world

Reason I didn’t go look was because the owner wanted to let the eBay auction run it’s course and I’m not going to bid on a 40 + year old bit of metal I’ve not seen in the flesh

Your right we all think our cars are worth more than they are . What would you think is a fair price?

The guy selling the white one is the same guy I got my 260 from a couple of years ago (my avatar photo was taken at the end of his rather substantial drive). He's a dealer, so naturally aims to buy low and sell high. I found him to be a reasonable bloke to deal with. He had his asking price, I made an offer, and we met in the middle. Part of the deal included a few little jobs and a full MoT test.

Just came back from looking at it. Your value was spot on I think by thoughts

good solid car
Door shuts need work on both sides , gaps not the same side to side or top to bottom
Lots of details bits need doing
Not worth 45 k to me or 40k
Nice guy

In conclusion nice car but not pristine

They look nice in white and always look better in a light colour as it shows the lines better,60 k don’t know where you get that from

States yeah probably but we are in GB so irelevant,would be nice to think they are worth that and even better if we could get that in a sale but at that money you are getting into MK 1 lotus cortina and MK 1 Twin cam escort territory and our little Datsuns are not quite there yet
