GT6 Mk1 on its way!

That's just a passing fad- they'll all wake up in five years and wonder why they spent so much on petrol !

And realise they wasted the best years of their life or 50% of each holiday doing 40mph down the motorway...

You see there we go again knocking the VW Camper this time.

I've had two of these when the kids were young and they were fantastic. I have many happy memories and the depreciation was really low.

The GT6 and MGB look ok on the pictures too, but they are just not the same sort of car as a 240/260Z. However to Gunvat (Si) that's ok.

In fact it will be interesting to see what his views are when he's owned the GT6 for a while.

:S30: they may or may not be rubish to some people like our Zcars are not to evey bodys taste you cant really say till you have owned or used one. i like most classic cars but there are a lot id not want to own but that does not mean there crap. so Si is going to try it out and if he wins with it its all good if he dont like it and gets rid he will prob get his money back maybe more who knows so long as he has a bit of fun on the way thats all that counts. most coments are about how fast it goes or power or mods you can do to it OR NOT?? but its not always about that to some peolpe, they just like the car as is??

Rob - how much was petrol when your kids were young ?:p

Martin - my comments were more in the line of reliability and habitability - money psent on improving the handling, reliability and handling of a GT6 is money well spent.

But what really gets up my nose is all the people who want us to walk around, throwing roses down in front of others and smiling all the time :

The Z Clubs' motto - 'be very nice to everyone regardless' !

Sean, about 80p per GALLON!

Yes they are a bit thirsty I admit. The first one was a superb quality German Westfalia conversion.

It also had the 'suitcase' engine i.e. VWPorsche 914 1700cc, twin carbs.

With this you got front disc brakes too. They later went to 1800cc and then 2,000cc.

You've started me off now!

:S30: VW bus i love um. who would of thought that a topic about none Zs would have so much input. would love a splity but just not got that kind of spare cash around at the mo. sean i wiil agree that sorting the handling out on it is worth all the money but some people still love um just as they are. if they drive poo or not.

Do you know what bus hairies are ? They're the bus equivalent of train spotters and you are in risk of becoming that towards Camper vans ! Next stop - surf city !

And where would you be heading....?

I,m not sure yet, this gt6 thing is a bit like a devorce, si had a z and is a member of the z club, but now he,s not got a z question is where does this leave him? do u need to own a z to be a member ,dont think so.
should be interesting though just to see how our japanese freinds in comparison improved british 2 seater sports cars by a 100% just as they did with the motorcycle industry, we showed them how to make them then they finnished the job properly
