GT6 Mk1 on its way!

Well even if it doesn't fit Simon, which from his explanation it appears to, then at least he will see his money back when he comes to sell :)

Let us know how you get on with the GT6 Simon, and be more careful next time you post a Triumph on a Z enthusiast website :)

Hi guys,

Sorry not bin around, I've been waiting to buy another blinkin' classic B4 I posted!

...a LONG story later, I've a GT6 Mk1 arriving from Cowdenbeath (hopefully!) this Fri.

£1,900 + £345 to be towed down (cheap as chips)

I've not seen it, only pictures.

I've never sat in a GT6, let alone driven one.

It's without an MOT.

OR Tax (........BUT tax exempt hoooray)

Wot have I done!?

ahh sod it I cant wait!

More to come.....

Hope all are well.

Si
A GT6 eh??
Well lets see what the experts say...
Condition 1 £4250
Condition 2 £2500
condition 3 £850.
So you have paid just under condition 2 price for a car WITHOUT an MOT???
And then they said...."you cannot accurately value any (classic) car without seeing it in the flesh. It MUST be judged on its own merits.":eek:
And it gets better ... not only have you never seen the car you have never really examined ANY GT6 let alone driven one?:eek::eek:
It handles like s**t, it goes everywhere slowly (max speed 108:rolleyes: 0-60 in 12 secs, but it drinks fuel like there is no tomorrow(20mpg)

And dont get me started on its looks!!!!

Whats that phrase with the words" parted, money and fool" in it???:conf2:

Facts n figures from Practical Classics.
on the plus side they did say "spares availability was good" Reassuring that. You will certainly need a few!!;)

Gt6 Hmmm, I race against one of these. The only time I've seen it's rear bumper is when I come to lap it! I also like classic cars, classic JAPANESE CARS! They look better go better and don't brake down! I guess you will come to your senses one day.

I daren't comment too much.

I think as a club we are very negative and opinionated.

Si I think you are very nieve, especially considering your mechanical knowledge and facilities. However good luck, I hope you have dropped on a good car.

The only reason you can put twin exhaust pipes on a GT6 is so that the roof can be chopped off and then the car becomes a giant wheel barrow as it was orriginally intended for. :D

Life is harsh - on this forum we merely reflect that. Consider this, if, despite all these comments, Simon enjoys his car then he's REALLy made theright decision - he did ask us after all.....!

There ARE worse cars.but we don't generally see them here.

Just be careful on sharp corners.....didn't the rear wheels on GT6 tuck under too far on a hard corner and cause the car to flip over?

Yes by all accounts but uprate the suspension and wider tyres solves it...thats one of the things I'm gonna do...Si

Russ said:
Yeah I think they changed the rear suspension a lot for the mk2??? I know I was after a mk2 because it had the looks of the mk1 but the go of the mk3 (which I think lost some looks?), all from memory so could be wrong :)

At least it's not a dull car and will go well enough, there are so many people into classics who drive cars that weren't any good in their day and ugly now :)

...someone making sense in the nursery!.....yes people upgrade using the rotoflex system from the Mk2 which I'll make a priority. Mk2's are also very rare but there lots of Mk3 's around that dont look anywhere near as good as the Mk1.

I also love z's guys B4 anymore toys are thrown at me!...I also love many things so I guess I'm lucky I can appreciate all sorts.

Si

I think it's a bit harsh as well, but I suppose bad replies are better than none, I hope Si proves us all wrong :)

Send us a photo of you driving it with a huge smile...

Re read the original thread!!!!

I'm not into racing.

I'm AM into any classic car I find beautiful to look at from Japan OR the UK or the US or bloody anywhere...I do however love 60's British motors.
