Full FRP body shell 240s on ebay!?

I don't want to get involved with the above argument but I do feel this forum does lack a bit of life, I tend not to post much because their just isn't any fun to be had, I don't agree with the garlic muncher very often but I do this time lol.

Guys this is a motor club forum.

The topic was about the recreation of the 240/260Z in FRP.

Many of us were following this thread with interest about the possible production of these shells and their impact on our cars, rotten cars and motorsport. The manufacturer of the shells was also following this thread.

An in-depth discussion about the depth of underseal of a person's shell, rags on axle stands, poor welding of floors, masturbation to a picture of a car etc etc was not what I considered appropriate to this thread. Grow up and lets have a sensible discussion about these shells. Yesterday I invited the manufacturer to Zedfest to hopefully bring the shell along and if not at least talk about it to those interested - I'm sure after following the degeneration of this thread he's not interested anymore.

Let's have threads that are interesting and informative, if you want to have arguments about who said what about someone's car do it somewhere else.

Rob, do you honestly think the shell is a goer?, this thread would have died a long time ago...it was talked about and it failed.....in my oppinion the thread would have stood a chance if the supplier had created "the ultimate dream" Involved the Z club and focused peopless minds on a completed car that could seriously whip ass as a "fun car racer in a modern series" or "track day car" but due to poor marketing and as a finished result they get nowt......dont blame me or Rob infact because they only have supplied only a part n parcel of the real thing....... you want sensible? you have it.....or realistic, your choice, or should i say the committee choice.

anyway, was that fine or course grit.....:lol: yea I know, im a git!!!!

I don't know if the shell is a goer or not, neither do the people who have produced the first basic outline. They admit that their Escort shell has a bigger future but lets explore the possibility and get involved if we want to.

As I said, as a road car it's not likely to be viable but as a track car (mod sports etc not homoligated production cars) it MIGHT be. There are all sorts of cars out there - Paul Sampson who used to trackday a Samuri now races a fibreglass Suzuki SC100 that is nothing like the original apart from outline, it goes like hell!

I hate being herded like a sheep.............it's like being at scout camp 'that's where you pi*s" when there are miles of leafy hedges !

Over-regulated.

INTERESTING NEWS :thumbs::

Derek Sulley and I agreed it would be a good idea to approach FRP Automotive about attending Zedfest and hopefully bring along one of their shells.

They have very kindly agreed to come along with examples of their Z products including a bare shell and some panels :bow:

As I mentioned earlier they have been following our Thread with interest, understand the concerns mentioned in it and seem very keen to discuss them with us.

I will have to make the effort to come down to Zedfest this year then, I do like the idea of these plastic shells, Especially if they could be made more user friendly.
