Colour choice!

cars looking great rob, and cant really notice the black strip around the arches, wasn't sure how they would look painted red but they look really well

Jay

Cheers mate, They seem to be missing a bit on all four of them. It looks like it's just rusted away so I'm not quite sure what should be there if you get my drift .

Rob

If its the bottom corners its just a small L shaped metal brackets that are fixed to 4 holes 2 on upright & 2 underneath.

Cheers Jay, Regarding the arches I actually wanted to see the rubbers because I wanted people to know they're bolt on arches plus I like seeing the separation personally ;).

So it's not part of the frame and is removable ?, So I could re make it in for instance a piece pf stainless ?.

If anybody has the dimensions that would be great.

LOL , It's been at the garage a couple of months now so it hasn't been that quick mate, Plus I doubt I'm going to get much change from £3000 :(.

Mind you he's a good guy as he knows I only have around £2300 and will let me pay him the rest monthly :smoke:, I will be spending the next few months over winter putting it back together and renewing what ever looks nasty if funds allow.

As you know it's never ending mate, How is yours coming along ? is it road worthy yet ?.

Rob

£25 ea if they are good ones, pretty sure you will see they are easy to fix when you have taken one apart, can be a bitch to get back together though

That sounds a bargain to me especially with the amount of work they put into the doors aswell, I would have thought most places would charge double that & take 10 times longer to do it.

Try 4 bodyshops, then 8 years to get your shell back home!
Rob, your car is coming on really well.
By the way, I am a ginger!

Mark.

Nothing a cheap bottle of Tesco hair dye wouldn't fix my old mucker :lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:.

Sounds like you've been through the ringer with your car Mark :(, Looks like I've got off lightly :D.

I'm ginger. And I invented Supercool™. If it was my choice I'd ban fat giant people and midgets (or make them appear in porno together, and I do have a film / romantic drama where that might happen). Sean, don't go red. It'll look great I'm sure but then it would blend very comfortably in and slip under the radar. Your 240 looks great in primrose. Ivory white or duck egg blue would be the only other places I'd go. Metallics and it's getting younger which is not the object here. Don't forget, I get paid to take peeps with no / shite ideas and make them look cool. That's my look.

Good comments guys!
Have had my hair every colour possible in my new romantic/ goth days back in the eighties.
You have to stop at some point though. Some people didn't even recognise me at Z club meets when I stopped dying my hair and had it all cut off.
Anyway, hope to get the twin turbo 260 back out next year, just got exhaust manifold back from being straightened out. Loads more to do before it hits the road though.
Plus I must finish Dave's RB26 engine for his conversion!

Dont talk such crap. And try and keep your opinions separate from the true facts.
Between 1970 and 1974 Nissan used over 12 metallic colours on the 240Z and 260Z
901,903,113,114,301,302,303,305,306,307,214,248 and lastly 704..;)

13 then?

I wasn't claiming they weren't used, and I don't dislike them at all. That wasn't my point. In fact I've only ever sat in metallic coloured Z's. The first being a truly gorgeous metallic blue 260. I was giving my opinion and right or wrong doesn't come into it. I personally think flat colours show off those beautiful flowing curves to greater effect at a glance. The metallic colours look great but the mirroring effect of the paint tends to make those lines blend in and you have to get closer to see them. That's all. It wasn't a dig, and if anyone took it as one then do a flip reversal and don't feel all upset.

Awesome to Pete for getting all the metallic paint options. What were the rest then?
