I used to love them, we had a Subaru franchise in the 90's and I ran loads as demo's, Impreza's, Forester's and Legacy's of every type. The boss had a 22b (till he lost his licence) which if you look at the NEC auction estimate for the one they're selling I bet he wish he still had....but I dont really fancy one these days.Scooby sti, going up rapid, serious bit of kit,155 mph straight out of the crate 0-60 4.8 seconds then you can start making them go faster, don’t see em now days do we
I had a 2.8 Golf VR6 and loved it.
This is why I mess around with Hillman Imps. So much fun for so little money and a tuned one will barely exceed 100mph.I know I'm an old geezer but these days a fast car on the road is pointless and frustrating. Track days yes.
I'd rather spend money on quality, style and luxury. Even a vintage car might be fun.
Yeah, but I can't afford a chauffeur. You drive a BMW, you get driven in a Merc.
Ha ha, you've replied to the wrong post.Yeah, but I can't afford a chauffeur. You drive a BMW, you get driven in a Merc.

Yes, Germany isn't known for making fast cars.........
That quattro is lovely, complex metal work apparently. I've a massive soft spot for the gt4's also. in silver with std wheels they're quite subtle also. Massively over engineered which really appeals.
there's a supercharged m5 on collecting cars....
you've had a 968 before haven't you? I loved mine, I'd have an0ther.
I really didn't like the 968....it looked lovely but just felt boring...!
Would have said MX5 if we weren't heading into winter.
My pick would be a Porsche 911 Carrera 2 (1998-2000) (996.1)
- Fast, but not too fast
- Appreciating
- Analogue driving, with a few modcons to keep you safe
- Cable throttle and no IMS worries as per the later 996's
- Can daily it without standing out, but still an enthusiast car
- Reliable
