classper ?

No idea who he is but he must be building a nice car. :)

You could speak to Albrecht and see if he has one, I seem to recall he was selling one some time ago.

Won't you be compromising top speed with that ratio? I can understand that it may be great for a drag strip car but for a road car it may be too high a gear possibly??

OK .... who is classper ???????? I know he is in the UK .....

miserable sod outbid me at the last minute :

He's deffo not a miserable sod. In fact he is clearly a discerning buyer cos he just bought a very rare and desirable BRAND NEW 4.6 diff for £115.
You lost it Zhead cos you didnt bid enough for it. Simple as that.
Second hand 3.9 diffs fetch more than that.

ZHead,

I have a complete NISMO LSD-equipped 4.625 ratio R200 "in stock" if you really want one........

I don't know the buyer, but oddly enough I DO know the seller. Web makes the world smaller for sure ! He always seems to come across great items that are vintage NOS and lets them go on Egay.
SUPER nice guy too.
...........Vinny:cool:

Better luck next time Andy !

wtf would you want a 4.6 in a road car?
I have a 4.2/4.6 in my scort (cant rem) and tbh it’s hopeless
O – 60 might be quick, but apart from that its sh1t
With a phat V8 you will deffo need a little more them that.
V8’s don’t rev m8, unless you have an unlimited bank balance ?

Exactly.

Did somebody say this was for a 'road car'? And a 'V8' powered one at that?

For the record, Works rally 240Z and 260Zs most often used 4.875 and 5.143 diff ratios. They sometimes went even faster than 60mph with them too.........

Nice one - comparing a road going V8 powered Z to works rally cars - and your point is ? I remember ZHead being concerned about aerodynamics at 160/170 mph (see post re. front and rear spoilers on 'progress').

Yes please Alan - for the shell build...... Will sort the finance with you

If you have a 4.8 or a 5.1 I would also like to talk about those please......

It's not for a road car Wyn - I have more than one project although the other one that this would be for will take years.

You are making wild assumptions that this is for the road car.....

Apologies, I assumed wrong. I didn’t realise you were building two cars

What is it going in tho?
Track? Hill climb? Rally?

Engine type?
Max rpm?

What was the approx top speed of those cars?
What would they rev too?

Top speeds? Around 110~120mph theoretical.

Revs? LR24 around 7500rpm. LY around 8500rpm. Not set in stone though.

Key point is rolling circumference of the tyres they used..................;)

I was going to ask that  but I didn't think they would be that much larger then a equ modern 70/14 profile?
(What the crossply equ is in relation I wouldn't know :conf2:) I take it they only had crossplys in the 70's ?

70 series is actually low profile - not full profile........

They did use radials.

See if you can guess the rolling circumference from this shot:
