Wheels again....

Standard 260 - think someone along the way took off the four pots that it had on when Glyn owned it before me....;)

Did you find that the brakes were insufficient??
Mine were fine and I drive it bloody hard round the twisty roads here!
Only at Spa did the brakes come up short. Overheated after 2 laps, I do have a bigger servo though, but they felt powerful enough but not too much feel.
After Spa I changed to EBC greenstuff and now have loads of feel and no brake fade.
Fitting vented discs to standard spaced calipers for Spa next year so should be ok I hope with the uprated brake pads.
I do feel that it is the pads which matter the most.

[QUOTEI could have used the half ton Range Rover Classic four pots, but they just weigh so much more it seemed more sensible to use slightly more modern technology[/QUOTE]

Bear in mind, you could be adding weight (unsprung) by going with wider and larger wheels and tires, so could be not much difference in weight in the end.

Andrew, did you buy of make your caliper spacer for the OEM caliper?

Hi Ian
That gentleman Rob Gaskin kindly donated them to me.
I have had new discs made up and they are ready to go on once I get my new Konig Rewinds 15" x 7"

Rob G, would you mind telling me more (if there is any to tell?)

About the spacers? Well I didn't source those.

I bought some old calipers off Kevin Irons about 14 years ago which had spacers in them. He supplied new Pug discs and 260 hubs to suit. I had the calipers rebuilt and that included new longer bolts to hold the two sides of calipers together - I wasn't happy that the standard ones were long enough. I remember they were hard to source because of the thread pitch (Metric fine?).

Hi Ian
I got new pug 505 gti discs
They had to be machined
The diameter was reduced by 2mm
The centerbore was enlarged for 260z hub
and 4 x holes at 114.3mm had to be drilled.
I had a mate who did it for £25.
Not fitted as yet but seem ok compared to my old discs.

Hi JK
If you can get a cad drawing.
There is a small local startup company with a 3D milling machine which is looking for work.
They would be able to mill the parts out of alloy for you for reasonable cost.
They are also looking for any otrher parts they could make for zeds.
I just got my grill blasted and powdercoated by them.

You will need to find out the size from RHD Japan as with postage and VAT going to be around £80.00.
Hello,

Thank you for contacting RHDJapan and sorry for the delay! We dont have the dimensions handy unfortunately, only confirmation they fit the tarmac wheels.

Please let us know if there is anything else we can do for you.

Ah...helpful, not! ;)

Thanks Rob Gaskin & Andrew.
Andrew, could you let me know what the thickness of the spacer is so I can investigate having some made up please? Then I need to see if all the said parts will fit onto the hub (no its not going onto the Z)
