What did you do to your Z this week?

Well being on paternity for a little bit I had a few jobs to do round the house but finally got on to sorting my garage out a bit (after seeing people sorting there’s in here it spurred me on too..!).

Bought some more racking and had a sort… it’s a working garage, no fancy floor or plastered walls yet.

Had a go at adjusting the fuel sender today and bending it down.

Started with empty tank and adjusted fully empty to be just below the E mark then filled it up in 5L increments so now I know when the needle is on E, I’m down to the last 2 gallons - but I’d be refilling around 1/4.

The last one is 27L as I need to get another 5 litres from the petrol station to get the tank to a true half full and see where the guage ends up. I think I have a 65L tank as I’ve squeezed 63L into it in the past. Shell V-Power super unleaded makes your eyes water in those quantities! ;)

Why does this remind me of the damn riddle from die hard (with Sam L Jackson) with the litres of those water bottles?

That was such a great riddle! I used it with my kids when we were stuck at the airport and it made them think for a good long while! And me too, trying to remember it so that I could be super dad :p

And finally with 32L (which in theory is a “real” 1/2 tank.

I may just leave it there for now as I know where the needle needs to be for filling up. But I may get brave and try the adjustment / calibration screw on the rear of the gauge. For now I’m going to leave it alone. Too many other jobs need doing.

You could get a couple more litres in the vapour tank and filler hose 😂

Designed some new velocity stacks to go with the new ITB's & 3D printed some quick protypes to see how they looked

My titanium stash is running low so thought I would go a different route and make some carbon fibre ones instead, So modelled up a quick mould for them and ordered some carbon fibre tube cloth, Hoping my mate that makes surfboards will help me out with some PU resin and his vacuum bags to mould them , then maybe cut some carbon sheet or ally for the mounting base and stick that on to mount them on the ITB's

That's the plan anyways

I wanted and expected my car to finally be back in the garage, now we’re three weeks into 2024 and the garage floor is done but hospitalisation for the past 10 days has done for that! Hoping to go home today all being well and sorting it out in the next few weeks once I’m 100%.

Another totally gratuitous pic of it where it should be …

Noah sailed past last night!!! So much water in one go was just madness. Aome idiot built my garage on the lowest part of the drive, so I opened the garage door with trepidation expecting to have to slop it out! I was delighted to find that my recent work on fixing the occasional flooding that happens under these conditions has worked! Found the stop at the front had come off a little at the edges and that the person who build the garage had omitted to use cement at the end of a ground level brick.

I have NOTHING to celebrate compared with Mr @uk66fastback - but these small wins make me unnaturally happy! ;)
